2. URJ Mission
• In continuing the tradition of UC wide
undergraduate research publications, the UC
Merced Undergraduate Research Journal (URJ)
seeks to promote strong undergraduate writing,
scholarship, and creativity in as many disciplines
as possible.
3. What Does the URJ Publish?
• Abstracts
• Pure and or Applied Research
• Independent Research
• Documentaries
• Course Work
4. Requirements
• Research will require the following Formats:
-Abstract: between 250 and 500 word count
-Research Papers: between 2000 and 4000
word count
-Standard page text formatting applies: 12 pt. font,
Times New Roman, 1 in. Margins
5. Submission Process
• Submission will be reviewed anonymously until
officially accepted
• Currently accepting submission and final deadline for
submissions will be November 7th 2014
• All submission are to be sent to:
ucmurj@gmail.com
6. Editorial Process
• All Submitted work will be assessed by a
team of editors
• Once a piece has been accepted, if all
qualifications are met, authors and editors
will work together and polish the piece of
writing to assure that its publication is at its
best.
7. Submitted Work
• Accepted work will be published in the UC Merced’s
Undergraduate Research Journal
• Submissions will be viewed by the public, graduate
schools, medical schools, prospective employers and
more, opening countless opportunities in your field
