Dhaka is ranked second among the least livable cities in the world. Being a native of this city, we grew up loving this city. I made this slide inspired by reading two articles in the daily star. I don't know the writers personally, but without their I article I would not be able to make this. Credit goes to those two writers. Also, I used several photos downloading from google. Credit also goes to those brilliant photographers
3. The Richkshaw. The signature transport of Dhaka. This
omnipresent vehicle is a moving piece of art. If you haven’t taken a
rickshaw ride ride with its hood open in one of those rainy days you
have missed out of the god’s blessings on earth
4. Dhaka never fails to surprise. You’ll find so many vehicles sharing
same public space Buses, CNGs, Rickshaws,Legunas you name.
Yet somehow even all those chaos these will take you anywhere
you want in Dhaka. And the fares are surprisingly cheap
6. Dhaka may not be the name that crosses your mind when
you think of street foods, but jhalmuri, chotpoti, fuchka of
this city can contest other street foods of the world. Hygiene
is a tiny issue that can be overlooked xD
7. Tong. The makeshifts tea stalls that make tea available to everyone
in this megacity. From residential area to commercial area, tea stall
has an invasive nature of showing itself everywhere.
10. Depressed? Need attention? Feeling suicidal? Dhaka is
your city then. Grab a tea in a tong and indulge yourself
discussion. It works better than the counselling of hefty
paid psychiatrists. The simplicity and naivete will bring
lots of positivity in you.
12. The craziest mix of the invasive development and the 400 years
old part of the city. This part of the city has been successful to
preserve hundreds of years of many historical relics, foods and
customs. One can wander the spiral interwind alleys of old town
and never get tired of roaming
14. Just for a moment, can we all stop our never ending complains,
whining and consider the matters that traffic jam teaches us? It
teaches us patience. It compels us to become punctual. It also
singles out that no matter we plan we might not reach
destination in our life within the we expect
