I am a passionate advocate for the rights of mental health consumers/survivors. I have a lived experience as a survivor of childhood trauma & being a consumer of mental health services.
My professional experiences include policy work, support work, peer support, program development & management, training, public speaking, board directorship, management consulting and leadership development. My most important experience was coming to understand that my madness had meaning grounded in experiences of trauma, and in learning to live with my unusual experiences in new ways. Today I view my madness as a gift.
