Dear Sir/Madam
Herewith my letter of support for Mr. Henk de Villiers. I’ve known Henk for the last five years and have
interacted with him through my role as Residence Head of Simonsberg Residence, Stellenbosch
University (SU). As you will note from his CV Henk was a resident at Simonsberg.
Henk is a creative, open-minded and hardworking individual with a keen interest in the development of
both people and business(-es). This is demonstrated through his involvement both on and off campus
over the last 8 years. He has a strong academic background and through his work related experience
over the last couple of years he has shown that he is hard-working and focused. He is self-motivated and
as such will continue to strive for better and higher.
Student leaders at SU regularly help our university to better understand and implement its strategies.
Henk fulfilled this role at Simonsberg Residence as well as on the rugby field. He has shown character in
tough situations and it is perhaps his loyalty and creativity that will be remembered by his peers. He is
talented and, with the right guidance, can achieve whatever he wants to.
SU prides itself in delivering well-rounded graduates that value inclusivity, are innovative and who can
interpret the future as thought leaders. In my view Henk fits this profile. I am of the opinion that he will
continue on his journey of self-development and exposure thus not only bettering himself but, in his
way, change the world.
