Re: Letter of Recommendation
To Whom It May Concern:
I had the pleasure of working with Heather during her Preceptorship at Saint Francis
Memorial Hospital in the Critical Care Unit. During that time, I became aware that
Heather is not only an exceptional nurse but also an exceptional individual. She is
delightfully humorous and bright and brings to the bedside a valuable insight and an
empathetic caring response.
She is motivated, interested in learning everything she can about being a competent
nurse, responsive to the patients’ needs, acting as a patient advocate when determining
the best plan of care and course of action in emergencies.
Clinically, she performed at the bedside with confidence and compassion for the
individual needs of the patient population. She was provided opportunities to care for
intubated patients on multiple medications including vaso-pressors, sedatives, narcotic,
paralytics and other life-saving medications, blood and blood product infusions. Of the
types of patients she cared for included Sepsis, COPD, CHF, ETOH withdrawal, ESRD,
GI-Bleed, Stroke, and ICH with external ventricular devices and ICP monitoring.
Heather is competent in computer documentation in Cerner and is able to manage the
care of two critical care patients with minimal direction.
I would recommend Heather for any position she is applying for at this time. She will be
an intelligent, compassionate and competent asset to any organization.
Sincerely,
Marilyn Dees, RN, CCRN
