NDIS Purpose
Funded by the Australian government and administered by the National Disability
Insurance Agency (NDIA), NDIS is Designed to provide Funding and Resources to help
People. Moreover, it aims to provide support and services to individuals with diverse
abilities. The main purpose of NDIS is to improve the quality of life for people with

As the name suggests, Personal care Support refers to those kinds of services which
help diverse abilities people with daily performances. These services can be provided in
homes as well as hospitals. It does not include physical support only but also mental
and emotional support.
Specialist Therapies
Specialist Therapies are special kinds of treatment to address specific health conditions
or issues. It is done by health care professionals with specialised training and experts.
Home modifications
The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) provides funds for home modification

Process of accessing funding for home modifications under the NDIS:
To access home modification services through NDIS, a person must follow these
following steps:
1. Eligibility
If you are aged between 7 and 65 with Australia Citizenship and your Disability is
caused by permanent impairment due to which you need disability-specific support to
perform daily life activities, then you are eligible for receiving NDIS services. For home
modification services, you must be an NDIS participant with an approved plan.
2. Assessment
Once you are considered eligible for home modifications Service, Professional health
Assistance will determine what modifications are necessary according to your
Disabilities.
3. Types of Modifications
There are many kinds of modification under Home Modification in NDIS which includes:

4. Funding Approval
Once you evaluate your modification, a request will be made to NDIS for fund approval.

maintenance; rather it should be related to the participant's disability and designed in
