Reasonably, “Baku Metropolitan” faced a need to represent its services throughout a modern and user-friendly website, designed for both, citizens and overseas visitors. In anticipation of Baku 2015 European Games, a future website was also intended to provide tourists with useful information about sports facilities and ways to get to them.

"BAKU METROPOLITAN" CJSC
"Baku Metropolitan" CJSC was established in 2014 due to
reorganization of “Baku Metropolitan” and
"Azertunelmetrotikinti" JSC, launched by the Decree of the
President of Azerbaijan Republic. Main duties of Baku
Metropolitan include enlargement of the city area
coverage, construction of new lines, improvement of
passenger transportation quality and management of
metro facilities.
To date, "Baku Metropolitan" counts about 6500
employees, and 1500 of them are engaged in construction
of new lines that are to become important routes while
getting around the city of Baku.
The company structure consists of several departments,
focused on various ways of Baku metro development. In
practice, each unit contributes to the process of
company’s improvement in accordance to international
standards.
CHALLENGE

In anticipation of Baku 2015 European Games, a future
website was also intended to provide tourists with useful
information about sports facilities and ways to get to
them.
TASK
To fully represent metropolitan services and its
significance, Miritec IT-specialists were given a task to
develop a website as a single tool to attract city residents
and foreigners to its services and city venues, in particular,
during the international tournament. “Baku Metropolitan”
website had to carry an interactive map to help users get
familiar with their opportunities if travelling around the
city.
In practice, the interactive map had to provide users with
tools to set a travel route, check out its presumable
duration, transfer stations and distances between the
main points.
In addition, the website had to display maps of key
sightseeing spots and sports venues in Baku, and a
shuttle schedule to speed up a travel to the facility.
SOLUTIONS
In course of the website development, Miritec specialists

with an ability to use a widget in the admin panel;
gallery transfer to the server;
dynamic forms with validation of entered data on
both, client’s and server’s sides;

2. FUTURE STEPS
TThe project of Baku Metropolitan was completed before
the start of the European Games 2015. Its authorities plan
to host more international events and tournaments in
future, which is why website content should be optimized
and adjusted in regard to their nature and preferences of
their potential visitors.
BUSINESS BENEFITS
After its release, the number of website visitors constantly
grows, just as users’ interest in offered tools and content.
Website design and functionality meet international
standards and are said to receive positive feedback from
its visitors.
The Customer has cut time expenditures, as Miritec team
has accomplished this project within six-month period.
The process required an involvement of IT-experts in
various fields, including UI/UX designers. They have
completed interactive map design in the shortest possible
