Cover letter
1. Why should you hire me? That’s a good question.
I've worked in the food industry off and on for the last 17 years. The only lapses in my
working in the industry were when personal matters required it. I'm a highly dependable
person, I was my parents sole caregiver for 10 years before they passed. I took care of
my late husband's granmother for two years as well. While putting my dream of
advancing in the food industry aside wasn't what I had planned when I was younger, it
was what was required of me, and honestly, I wouldn't change a thing about those
experiences because the time I had with my parents and my late husband's grandmother
are full of cherished memories.
I love to learn new recipes and techniques because cooking is my passion. I've been
studying culinary arts and cake decoration on my own, in my free time for a few years
now.
I am very honest, patient, and dependable.
If I make a mistake, and I don’t catch it myself, I welcome having it brought to my
attention so I can remedy it asap. As well as welcoming any constructive criticism.
I have a strong work ethic, and do not walk away from a task until it is finished.
I am dedicated to my work and always strive to do better than the day before. I know I’m
not perfect, but it is still something I strive for every day.
I know I can become a very valuable employee to you. All I need is the opportunity to do
so.
Thank you.
