The role of an Enterprise Fellow is to support students in developing their enterprise plans and to assist the professor. Fellows are selected from students who performed well in their own Enterprise Class. Fellows meet with student groups to help them select business plan topics and provide feedback. They also help prepare materials to present to the class based on their individual strengths. Fellows assist the professor with correcting assignments, though may not grade work. Regular debriefs with the professor ensure they work synergistically to maximize learning for students. Fellows help with academic advising and registration.

The role of the Enterprise Fellowisprimarilytosupportthe studentsintheirunderstandinganddevelopmentof their
Enterprise Plan. The Fellow alsosupportsthe Professorinthe facilitationof studentlearning. Fellowsare selectedby
Professorsandare studentswhohave performedwell intheirownEnterprise Class. The followingare suggestionsand
examplesof howtomake the experience ameaningful one forthe students,the Enterprise Fellowsandthe Professor.
Theyare:
 Meetwithstudentsduringthe first2 weeksof the semester. The professorwill dividestudentsintosmall
groupsof 4-5. The Fellowwillfacilitatemeetings(duringnon-classtime) witheachgroup. The purpose of these
meetingswillbe toa) helpstudentsworkthroughthe processof selectingatopicfortheirbusinessplan. Using
a checklist(tobe developed),the Fellow will give feedbackandguidance tothe students.
 The professorwill workwiththe Fellowtodetermine individual strengthssuchassocial media,marketing,
finance,etc. The professorwill thenworkwiththe Fellow tohelpthemprepare material thattheywillpresent
to the class.
 The Enterprise Fellow willassistthe Professorin correctingsectionsof the businessplanaswell asother
assignments. NOTE: Enterprise Fellowsare notallowedto grade work.
 The Enterprise Fellow andthe Professorwilldebrief classesregularly. Whatwentwell today? Whatdidthe
studentsstruggle with? What couldwe doto increase understandingandlearning? Isour workingrelationship
synergisticorare we workingindependentof one another? The goal isto maximize the skillsetsof boththe
Fellowandthe Professorforthe benefitthe students.
 The Enterprise Fellow willdevelopanunderstandingof whatissuesare tobe broughtto the professorandwhat
issuescanbe resolvedbythe Fellow.
 Part of the acclimationtocollege includesinstructiononacademicadvisingandthe registrationprocess. Thisis
critical for ourfirstyear students. Enterprise Fellows mayassistwiththisprocess one weekbefore the
beginningof the Advisoryperiod. Dr.Grota is alsoavailable toprovide instruction.Forthe 2015-2016 Academic
