Applied Technology and Engineering (AT&E) provides environmental services to industries and municipalities, including wastewater treatment plant design, permitting, toxicity evaluations, process modifications to reduce pollution and recover resources, and laboratory services. AT&E works with clients to identify issues and explore operational alternatives to minimize waste and maximize water reuse through advanced treatment technologies. AT&E addresses all environmental, health, and safety issues faced by industries and municipalities.
1. Applied Technology and Engineering, P.C.
(AT&E) specializes in providing environmental
services for industry and municipalities. Our
experience has shown that environmental prob-
lems faced by industry and municipalities are
unique. We have focused on these problems and
developed the skills and expertise to address
environmental issues in an efficient and cost-
effective manner.
AT&E works with trade groups and research
institutions to advance industry and municipali-
ty environmental concerns and to promote a
better understanding by state and federal regu-
lators of industrial issues. In addition to con-
ventional pollutant issues, water quality issues
such as color, toxicity, and metals have been in-
vestigated.
Wastewater projects for clients address
problems with treatability, color removal, met-
als removal, aquatic toxicity, waste minimiza-
tion, and nutrient removal. Environmental
management services, laboratory services, and
health and safety services are also provided.
Services include wastewater treatment plant
evaluations, design of water and wastewater
treatment facilities, toxicity reduction evalua-
tions (TRE/TIE), environmental permitting,
treatability studies, environmental compatibil-
ity evaluations of manufacturing chemicals and
processes, and development of environmental
management plans and procedures.
Industries and municipalities now are recogniz-
ing the need to identify and implement waste
minimization and resource recovery/reuse
measures. AT&E staff works with clients to
identify manufacturing process concerns and
explore operational alternatives. These alterna-
tives may include process modifications such as
counterflow rinsing, cooling water recov-
ery/reuse, chemical substitutions, dye substitu-
tions, improved process control, wastewater
heat recovery, and wastewater treat-
ment/reuse.
These approaches have been successful in
reducing the discharge of pollutants such as
metals, salts, and waste heat. Advanced water
treatment technologies including ozonation,
membrane filtration, ion exchange, chemical
coagulation, and distillation have been evaluat-
ed in laboratory and pilot scale trials to deter-
mine their suitability for water reuse and re-
covery of various chemicals.
AT&E Associates address all aspects of Envi-
ronmental, Health, and Safety issues confront-
ing industries and municipalities. These ser-
vices include support for in-house operations
and policies for the development of comprehen-
sive environmental management programs and
systems.
