Bicyclehelmetscurrentlyareseenasadisposableproduct.They
haveashortproductlifeandoncedamagedneedstobereplaced.
Styrofoamisaninsulatorandhardtorecycle.Thecurrenthelmet
designalsolendstomisuseofhelmets.
Thisleadtothedesignofamodularhelmet.Thepartswouldsnap
intoaframeandbe3-Dprinted.Allowingforeasyremanufactured
partsandrecyclabilityofthepartsafterreplacement.partsandrecyclabilityofthepartsafterreplacement.
Alatticestructureisused
toreplacethestyrofoam
incurrenthelmetdesigns
Thelatticestructure
offershighbend
resistanceandhigh
energyabsorption.

totheuserinthecaseofanaccident.
Thelatticedesign,builtintoageometricformallowsfor
theadditionofsafetyfeaturesfortherider.Lights,gps,
andspeakerscanbeaddedintothelatticetoprovidea
moreenjoyableandsaferide.
