days and no matter how good
condition you are in, towards
the end of the day your
concentration lapses. Fatigue
overcomes you slowing down
your ability to react both
mentally and physically. I had

8. FIELD AND TRACK
“My first experience with Flow was during the
FinnishTrack and Field Championships in July
2008. I had met Flow representatives earlier
and wanted to test the product.
I first tested Flow in the qualifying contest. The
day was extremely hot and humid, yet I felt
very energetic all day, both physically and
mentally. The next day, the weather was still
hot. I drank two bottles of Flow before I arrived
on the sports field and another four bottles
during the actual contest.
The biggest difference I noticed compared to
other sports drinks was that I stayed energetic
and dynamic through-out the whole contest.
Because of the effects of Flow, I was able to
focus on my performance during this very
exiting and challenging contest. Flow helped me
win the Finnish Championships in pole vault.”

9. FINNISH CURLING ASSOCIATION
”I have used Flow in many
connections and noticed the
positive effect it has on my ability
to concentrate. I’m not particularly
sensitive to sugars and can make
do with water. However, Flow is
superior to water in that it is more
suitable to the human body, it
helps keep the feeling of hunger
away and it doesn’t dilute body
salts the way water does.”

10. FIVE STAR COACH AND TRAINER
“Golf is a game where a balanced state of
mind is crucial. The more experienced the
golfer, the more important this becomes.
Golfers are on the look out for solutions to
find balanced circumstances in competition
and training.
Being aware of these facts, knowing yourself
and wanting to succeed in the game, you will
find that Flow helps you in a very important
sector.
Golfers who understand the meaning of
moods and mental condition in golf and want
to succeed will benefit from Flow.”

11. FLOORBALL
”SPV Floor Ball Team joined Flow Endurance
users in autumn 2008. The drink has been
very well received by the team. In fact, the
team is playing its best season ever. SPV won
a historic bronze in the 2008-2009 league and
the players are confident that one factor in
this is correct energy with Flow Endurance.
Based on its experience with Flow Endurance,
SPV would like to see a special Flow
customized for recovery drink.”
In 2010 the team won bronze and
in 2011 silver.

12. GOLF AND DIABETICS
“I have had diabetes for 30 years. For the past
20 years my biggest concern as a golf player has
been my sugar balance during a full round. Just
two years ago I had a problem in adjusting my
sugar and energy levels about half way through
my round. I often noticed, too late, that my
blood sugar level had dropped too low; at the
same time, my three-dimensional vision became
two-dimensional. This often led to shanking
drives. I used to carry bread and chocolate with
me to upgrade my blood sugar level.
Finding Flow was a significant change and a
great relief for me while playing golf. Now I carry
Flow and a few apples with me whenever I play.
I get the best results drinking small amounts of
Flow and water before every tee off. When the
weather isn’t too hot I drink a bottle of Flow per
nine holes. In hotter weather conditions I drink
more than that. If I feel hungry during the
game, I usually eat an apple. This combination
has worked very well for me and my blood sugar
level has remained stable. I can concentrate on
succeeding in the game and not worry about my
sugar levels.”
Mika Wikström
Finnish golfer and diabetic
13. GOLF AND DIABETICS
”At 52, I have Type I diabetes which evolved from Type
II 3 years ago (LADA). I have extremely tight blood
sugar control with a HbA1c of 5.6. The insulins I use
are Lantus (4 - 8 units in the morning + 8 evening)
and Novorapid as required.
I now play 150 to 200 rounds of golf per year, mostly
in Sotogrande, Spain. My HCP is 8- and going down...
Whenever possible, I walk on the golf course. I eat a
meal with long carbs two hours before the game, I
rarely eat anything during the round. I try to start the
game with a blood sugar level of 5-6 mmol/l, which
would normally sink to 3.5 or below after 5 holes on
my home course; naturally, my game goes down the
drain at that level. Fast corrections at this point are
fairly uncomfortable and tend to go 'over'.
Flow has been great in helping maintain even blood
sugar level during the round. I am also very sensitive
to blood sugar being too high; anything above 7
mmol/l seems to affect my play negatively. Therefore I
need to be very careful with 'normal' sports drinks.
Normally I dilute a bottle of Flow drink 1:1, making
sure I drink 2 – 3dl before the round and the rest
during the game. On hot days I use 1½ bottles and
dilute it more. I feel that, especially late in the round,
Flow also helps me concentrate better on shots and
particularly putts.
With Flow I don't need to worry about my diabetes
while playing golf. The only negative aspect I can think
of is the slight hassle of mixing the drink when you're
in a hurry.”

semi-retired

”I always drink Flow when I play golf. I start
drinking it when I start my warm-up. It helps
me maintain my energy level – something I
notice especially when, for some reason, I do
not drink Flow. I still haven’t grown tired of
the taste, even after all these years. I
appreciate the fact that it isn’t too sweet.”

especially in hot conditions. It isn’t too sweet.”
18. HIGH PERFORMANCE TRAINING
“In top sports, the goal is to improve human
performance with regard to the physiological,
biomechanical and mental requirements of different
sports. Heavy training, the ability to concentrate
well, and learning new skills are essential when
aiming for top results. Nutritional factors have an
increasingly important role in both training and when
competing. Correct nutrition is essential for the
body’s energy metabolism, recovery after exercise,
and the proper functioning of the nervous system.
I am familiar with the Flow drinks concept and
appreciate the extensive scientific know-how its R&D
is based on. These drinks are a valuable addition to
top athletes’ daily training: they give you long
lasting energy and help maintain a high level of
concentration. Flow drinks are safe for athletes to
use and they meet the criteria of clean sports.
The High Performance Training Center of Kuortane,
Finland, is actively involved in Flow drinks’ R&D, thus
making sure that the requirements of demanding
top sports are taken into consideration when
developing existing and new Flow products for the
benefit of sports involving endurance, strength,
speed and team effort.”

19. HORSE RIDING
“My name is Kimmo Sulkala and I am a
professional horseman. I professionally train
and ride my customer’s horses. My workdays
include training several horses each day. For
good results, training horses requires stamina
and patience, dedication and the ability to
focus. After breakfast I sometimes have to
work and ride for six hours without eating.
During these days Flow is a tremendous help.
I also train horses and riders together. During
these busy days I often drink Flow between
my meals.”

25. PROFESSIONAL DANCING
“We have been using Flow as our preferred
drink with very good results.
We have been dancing for 30 years. Earlier
we competed actively; now we work as
teachers, choreographers and performers
around the world.
Training sessions are usually long.
Competitions start early and often take up
the whole day. We need to keep up a good
level of alertness for prolonged periods of
time.
Concentration and endurance are key factors
in long training and competition sessions, as
it is not only physical, but also mental fitness
that we look for in our work. Flow works
perfectly for us. There is a noticeable
difference in our ability to maintain our
concentration and physical alertness when
using Flow as compared to when we have
run out of Flow.
We can recommend Flow for anyone aiming
for higher performance levels, both mental
and physical.”

26. PROFESSIONAL DANCING
“I have been mentoring Finnish Dance Sport
couples for many years.
Dancers use their body as an instrument to
express the music played. Competitions are
long (8 to 12 hours) and the finals are at the
end of the day.
Flow has solved the problem of being able to
use your mind to control body movements in
harmony with music.
Couples using Flow have succeeded in
international competitions. A good example
are Markus and Mariia Hirvonen winning the
Under 21 British Open in May 2008.”

29. SAILING, SWAN 45 CLASS
Swan 45 class is a high standard one-design platform attracting
world’s best sailors to compete in top regattas. Reaching a size
of 50 boats, the one-design fleet has attracted many top names
from international yacht and dinghy racing, ranging from America’s
Cup legends and Whitbread heroes to Olympic medal winners
Now this highly competitive fleet has a Finnish challenger:
s/y BLUE NIGHTS, another stunning Swan 45 with a female
owner and skipper, Tea Ekengren. Believing in themselves, Swan
45 project Blue Nights started in 2006, challenging the world’s top
sailors, being fully aware of the fact that reaching the top would
be rough sailing. The aim was to keep the learning curves on
positive angles and slowly, yet surely reach the international
ranks of Swan 45 sailing.
In 2008 the Blue Nights team has been getting their regatta
performance from Flow drinks.
In July 2008 Blue Nights was closer than ever to their goal of winning third
place in one of the most remarkable regattas in Spain, the King’s Cup, and
receiving the trophy personally from the King and Queen of Spain. The
next regatta, Swan 45 World Cup, will take place in September 2008. This
class has been by far the most exciting class in the recent Rolex Cup events
in Porto Cervo, with over 100 Swan yachts attending.

30. SOCCER
”We've used Flow daily before, during and
after training for almost a year now. As
headcoach I'm impressed. I work out several
times a week and drink Flow daily. I like the
taste of flow; it isn't too sweet and the
mouthfeel is pleasant. The composition of
the drink is perfect as Flow clearly keeps the
sugar levels even.”

31. SPORT INSTRUCTION
“I have worked as a sports instructor for over 10 years
in Finland.
I instruct indoor cycling, body pump, different aerobic
classes and dance classes. In total I have 10-20
classes every week. I also have a history as a world
championship level athlete, in team skating.
The classes that I instruct are very challenging,
physically and mentally. I have to perform alongside
with the class, to show example. I also have to
concentrate on verbally encouraging and inspiring
them to give their all for the workout. This means
speaking throughout the whole class in addition to
working out and it takes a lot of energy to stay
dynamic and focused.
Before I started to drink Flow during my classes, I was
often seriously dehydrated. Especially after a 2-3 hour
workout I felt physically weak and tired. I also suffered
from overtraining when instructing over 20 classes a
week. My body was no longer able to recover from this
physical stress and restore its health and fitness. Since
2006 Flow has played a significant role in my well-being
and stamina. Drinking Flow is definitely a part of
my daily routine.
I believe in the concept so strongly that I want to
encourage my clients to improve their stamina and
energy levels during the workouts. Drinking Flow
improves well-being and health, because it enables
you to exceed yourself in whatever you do and have
fun while doing it!”

32. TRIATHLON
”Triathlon is the ultimate test of endurance.
Flow Endurance was a completely new drink
to the triathlonists competing in Nokia,
Finland, 2-3 August 2008. After their initial
wariness, they had to get more. Flow helped
them keep their respiratory ducts clear. The
taste was pleasant, although for some it
takes getting used to. Once a concentrate is
for sale, there is a ready market for it among
the triathlonists.”
