BUKOWSKI
Heinrich Karl Bukowski was born
in Andernach, Germany, in 1920.
At the age of 3, he moved to the
USA.
Lived for 50 years in LA and died
in March 9, 1994 (73 years old).

AUTHOR
He published his first short story
at 24, in 1944.
His literature is autobiographical
and it approaches themes and
marginal characters (prostitutes,
sex, alcoholism, miserable people
and eschatological experiences).
4. ABOUT THE BOOK
From 1982, is a semi-autobiographical
novel about Henry Chinaski (Bukowski’s
alter ego). Narrated in first person by
Chinaski, it centers on the life of his life,
this time during his childhood and
teenage years.

strange, they laughed and talked and
seemed happy. I didn't like them.”
