“Global Challenges require a global approach”
~ A platform of peers and trust in a global community for achievement.
Professor Avolio’s 2003 definition,( adopted in part during 2009 in Prague)
“E-leadership is defined as a social influence process mediated by AIT to produce a change in
attitudes, feelings, thinking, behaviour, and/or performance with individuals, groups, and/or
organizations.”
# E-leadership can occur at any hierarchical level in an organization and can involve one-to-
one and one-to-many interactions withinand across largeunits and organizations. Itmay be
associatedwith oneindividual or shared byseveral individuals as its locus changes over time.” ~
AIT (Advanced Information and Technology)
"Complex social problems today outstrip the capacity of any single
organization or individual to solve them.”
~ Alison Fine, co-author of The Networked Nonprofit.
This is true in the private and public sectors as well.
Our approach is a shared, team or co-leadership model, an open “practice of
practitioners + with academics, researchers and existing centres of public
leadership~”with a focus on the present existing leadership programs in government
~ education, energy, environment and health: our individual roles, responsibilities
and opportunities for the future.
Raison D’Etre
“…a new type of leadership —e-leadership—is becoming essential
to organisational innovation and competitiveness.” 2012-13 EU Report
WHY? e Leadership
from EU Vision document
Their Vision document for the future 2013-2020 outlined that it identified the need for
prompt action in their 2013 Final Report to the EU,
EU
“…organized around four (4) main pillars, namely
(1) Joining forces to use e-leadership skills, as a key to foster Europe’s job rich recovery,
(2) Towards a Grand Coalition on e-leadership skills bringing all stakeholders together,
(3) Investing more decisively in Human Capital,
and
(4) Improving the business climate…”
Prepared by and others for
Robert Quimby,
Secretary General,
December 2013 Revised
