Private key management
No individual has sole authorisation. A minimum of 3 and up to
5 approvers are required, depending on the transfer size. This is
customisable to the client’s desired policy framework. Clients may
add their own approval process.
Approvals
The private key is sharded and stored on several servers at various
locations , managed and backed up by independent administrators.
Storage
In the situation where the client would choose to use their own or
a third-party custodian, Covario will issue a settlement request to
the client for signature and approval.
Transfer
The private key is controlled by Covario. Our custody technology
uses multi-party computation (MPC) that involves sharding of the
private key. The wallet is multi-signature where any transaction
outside of Covario-controlled accounts require whitelisting of
addresses and several approvers, including client.
