The FBM KLCI index gained 10.84 points or 0.65% on Monday. The Finance Index increased 0.71%
to 14202.08 points, the Properties Index dropped 0.01% to 1164.84 points and the Plantation
Index rose 0.34% to 7600.2 points. The market traded within a range of 10.79 points between an
intra-day high of 1668.26 and a low of 1657.47 during the session.
Actively traded stocks include THHEAVY, INIX, FGV-C11, BORNOIL-WC, KNM, AAX, VS, FGV, FGV-
C10, and SGB-PA. Trading volume increased to 1604.68 mil shares worth RM1574.90 mil as
compared to Friday’s 1380.67 mil shares worth RM1409.94 mil.
Leading Movers were SKPETRO (+4 sen to RM1.45), KLCC (+20 sen to RM7.68), GENM (+11 sen to
RM4.51), BAT (+122 sen to RM55.72) and IHH (+12 sen to RM6.60). Lagging Movers were WPRTS
(-2 sen to RM4.31), IOICORP (-1 sen to RM4.28), TENAGA (-2 sen to RM14.30), YTL (-0 sen to
RM1.69) and PETDAG (-0 sen to RM23.46). Market breadth was positive with 415 gainers as
compared to 364 losers.
The KLCI closed higher at 1668.26 points with last minute spike before the closing bell amid last
Friday’s gains in US market. The performance of our local bourse was lifted by buying interest in
heavy weight counters such as Sapurakencana Petroleum, IHH healthcare and Genting Malaysia.
