We are writingto inquire whetherthe MurdockCharitable Trustwouldinvite aproposal fromCamp
Tadmor,a ministryof Conservative BaptistNorthwest, seekinganinvestment of $50,000 for the
improvementof ourLog Cabinfacility.Ourvisionforthe logcabinisto create a small retreatcenterfor
church leadershipteamstouse fordiscipleshiptrainingandcommunitydevelopment. Thisgrantwill
funda portionof thisproject and we hope youwill partnerwithusinprovidingthisinvaluable resource.
Camp Tadmoris a ministryof NorthwestConservative Baptist(CBNorthwest),anassociationof
autonomous churches inOregon,Idaho,Washington,andAlaska.OurmissionasCB Northwestisto
activelypursue covenantcommunity,holdingeach otheraccountable tolive outourdoctrine,polity,
and philosophy.CBNorthwest’sannual operatingbudget,whichencompassesCampTadmor,isjust
overtwo milliondollars. All of CampTadmor’sfinancial support comesthroughCBNorthwest,including
a recentdonationof $25,000, whichwill be usedforthe logcabin.
As a ministryof CBNorthwest,CampTadmorexiststo helpuslive outour missionbyserving the local
church. AtCamp Tadmor we value ourGod-givenenvironmentandwe seektoprotect, preserve and
stewarditsinherentbeauty,providingfacilitiesandgroundsthatencourage connectionwithGod and
others.CampTadmor employsandhousesnine year-roundstaff,supportedbyanoffice of nine CB
NorthwestemployeesinPortland. The Boardof Trustees consistsof twenty-onemembers,plusthree
Executive Committeemembers,eachfromadifferent areaof CBNorthwest’sregion.CBNorthwestand
Camp Tadmorstand unifiedasone entityinthisproject.
Duringtenweeks of regularsummercampprogramming,CampTadmor offers fifteentotwentycamps.
Programssuch as Base Camp and Circle T operate simultaneouslyonotherpartsof our camp property
withour regularcamp programs.Each program isgearedtowards a differentage group,fromfirst grade
throughhighschool.Our campers come fromCB Northwestchurches,aswell asmany otherchurches
throughoutthe Northwest.Throughoutthe year, we hostrental groupssuchas local church groups,
men’sandwomen’sretreats, andoutdoorschools. Throughoutthe year,CBNorthwestalsohosts
conferencesandretreatsatCampTadmor for men,women, pastors,elders,andleadershiptraining.
The primaryfocus of Camp Tadmor’sministry istosupportthe church leadersof CB Northwestasthey
serve theircommunities.We believe thatitwouldbe valuabletoprovide themwithapeaceful
environmentforretreats atno charge.With helpfromthe Murdock Trust the logcabin will be usedby
pastorswho wish totake theireldersonretreats,youthpastorswhodesire tomeetwiththeir
volunteers,aswellas small discipleshipgroups.We alsoenvisionitbeingusedfor personal prayerand
writingretreats.Ourgeneral intentionwiththe logcabinisforit to serve asa discipleshiptool forthe
leadershipteamswithin churches toempowerthemforgreaterservice.
Camp Tadmorpurchasedthe log cabinin2002. The cabin iscurrentlynotin usable condition.Workhas
beendone toprepare the interiorfora remodel,withcleaningand basicmaintenance tothe interior,
exterior,and surroundinggrounds.We have alsoputin new powerservice and a well house. Now,
thanksto a generousdonationof $25,000 to the logcabinproject,we are readyto move forward. The
ideaof thisprojecthas beena hopeful dream since the purchase of the logcabin.Tobe able tooffera
facilityof thisnature free of charge,to leadershipteams,issomethingthatwill greatlybenefitchurches
and theircommunities.
2. Aftercreatingan itemizedlistof renovationsthatneedtobe done,we estimate the total costat
$75,000. Our listincludeseverythingfromplumbingandelectric,tocomfortable furnishings. Here isa

The opportunitytoapplyfora grant came about whenIofferedmyresourcesthroughmy experience
withthe Murdock Charitable Trust to assistCampTadmor inthisproject.Last yearI servedas an intern
for TwinRocksFriendsCamp withJosephThouvenel throughMurdock’sVisionandCall Internship
Program. My experience withthatprogramstirreda passionwithinme tohelpothercampsreceive
grants to improve theirprograms. Ibelieve the logcabinis averyworthyendeavoranditscompletion
wouldhelppropel CampTadmorintoa broaderrange of ministryopportunities.Iameagerto answer
