institution analysis

1. Bauer Media
• Bauer media is an institution branded the UK’s
most influential media band network. They
own over 80 different magazines and radio
stations including Kerrang!, Mojo, Q and Magic.
• The magazines stated above fall into my chosen
genre and Bauer Media tends to own radio
stations and other mediums of media
communication that explore the genre of rock.
In some cases such as through the ownership of
magazines such as Kerrang!, they will also
explore and market the genre of Indie rock.
• Because of this, I believe that Bauer Media
would publish my magazine (Echo) as it covers
several different areas within Indie Rock such
as the fashion and styling as well as the music
which is the dominant focus.
• Also, this institution owns radio stations that
might be able to distribute the relevant music
which would create synergy with the contents
of my magazine and could act as a
selling/marketing point for my magazine.
