Day 1 Wednesday 18 May – BARCELONA – The seaside city of Gaudi (D)
5.00 pm Transfer Barcelona airport to Colonial Hotel (or similar)
Rest of the day at leisure to discover Las Ramblas.
Day 2 Thursday 19 May – Barcelona half day city tour (B/D)
Breakfast - 9.00 am pick up from hotel. Proceed firstly to Park Guell. Then we
continue on to Gaudi’s masterpiece, the Sagrada Familia and on to the
monumental Bullring. We will also visit Santa Maria del Mar Cathedral before
finishing with a tour of the Paseo de Gracia in which we view the Lleo, Morera,
Batllo, Ametller and Mila houses, the one being better known as La Pedrera.
Rest of afternoon at leisure
7.30pm Dinner at a local restaurant. Overnight Colonial Hotel (or similar)
2. Day 3 Friday 20 May – Walking Tour of the Gothic Centre (B)
Rest of the day free. Overnight Barcelona Colonial Hotel (or similar)
Day 4 Saturday 21 May – Barcelona - Montserrat (B/D)
Early breakfast - 9.30 am depart hotel for Montserrat 1235 metres above sea
level. We drive past some of the province's picturesque little villages before
reaching the outstanding Montserrat Mountain. The renowned eleventh-century
sanctuary of Our Lady of Montserrat, one of Spain’s most popular pilgrimage
destinations, lies atop this mountain. The natural beauty, surrounding the
monastery, is breathtaking. After Lunch we visit The Royal Basilica where
the famous Romanesque sculpture of Virgin Moreneta “The Black Madonna”, can
be admired followed by a visit to the Museum.
19:30: Mass sung by the Monks and the 'L'Escolania' choir.

Day 5 Sunday 22 May – Montserrat (B/D)
After breakfast we shall board the Santa Cova funicular railway and after a
short ride, enjoy a walk down the sacred path passing modernist sculptures of
the Mysteries of the Rosary, works of Llimona and Gaudi, amongst others. At
the end of the route is the Chapel where the image of Our Lady of Montserrat
was found by young shepherds in the 13th
century, after seeing a bright light
which led them to the grotto. We visit The Holy Cave, where the famous
Romanesque sculpture of Virgin Moreneta can be admired. Rest of the day free.

Day 6 Monday 23 May – Montserrat – Manresa – Lourdes (B/D)
Early breakfast depart Montserrat heading to Manresa, where St Ignatius
came on retreat for ten months between 1522 and 1523. Each day he spent 7
hours in pray. On our way from Manresa to Lourdes we travel through the
scenic foothills of the Pyrenees crossing into France. Overnight Lourdes
Hotel Panorama (or similar)
3. Day 7 Tuesday 24 May – Lourdes (B/D)
This morning we will celebrate a group Mass at the Grotto before meeting our
guide for a walking tour of Lourdes including the Sanctuary area: Upper &
Lower Basilicas, the Grotto, and the Baths where hundreds of miraculous
cures have taken place. Continue our visit of the main sites associated with St
Bernadette including the Boly Mill where she was born in 1844, the original
parish church and the Cachot (prison) where the family was forced to live due
to misfortune during the time of the apparitions.
Free time this afternoon for a visit and prayers for the sick at the miraculous
Baths where the water has continued to flow since 1858. Pilgrims may choose to
Submerge themselves in the healing waters, or collect the Lourdes water at the
taps. During her 9th apparition to Bernadette, Our Lady said “Go drink and wash
yourself at the spring”. Optional afternoon Blessed Sacrament Procession and
Blessing of the Sick before a final evening candlelight procession after dinner.

Day 8 Wednesday 25 May – Lourdes (B/D)
Early breakfast - This morning, at 9.30am we attend an International Mass at
the Underground Basilica of Pope Pius X. Following this we visit Bartres
including the farm and the parish church where St. Bernadette spent most of
her time in prayer. Rest of the afternoon is free. Optional visit to Cathar
Castles. Overnight Hotel Panorama (or similar).
Day 9 Thursday 26 May – Lourdes - Toulouse – Rocamadour (B/D)
We depart Lourdes today travelling north-east towards Rocamadour. En route
we will visit Toulouse, the ‘pink city’ including the Saint-Sernin Basilica, the
largest Romanesque church in Europe, and the Church of the Jacobins which is
also the burial site of St Thomas Aquinas, the great theologian and philosopher.
Later this afternoon we arrive into Rocamadour, the sacred city built stunningly
against the side of a cliff. Remainder of the day at leisure. You may wish to
climb the Grand Escalier or take the elevator from the lower town.

4. Day 10 Friday 27 May – Rocamadour – Paray Le Monial (B/D)
This morning we will visit the Shrine of Rocamadour - Chapel of the Black
Virgin where we have the opportunity also to pray before the miraculous Black
Madonna statue. Other sites we will see include St Michael’s Chapel with its
12th century frescoes and St Amadour’s crypt.
Departing Rocamadour we continue through the beautiful French countryside
stopping to visit Anzy le Duc and Montceaux l’Etoile on to Paray-le-Monial, the
place where St Margaret Mary Alacoque experienced visions of the Sacred
Heart of Jesus in the 17th century. Rest of the day at leisure. Overnight Paray
Le Monial Comfort Hotel (or similar).
Day 11 Saturday 28 May – Paray Le Monial - Taize (B/D)
After breakfast, go on a guided tour of Paray Le Monial visiting the Chapel of
Apparitions, the room of the relics of St Margaret Mary, the Diorama of St
Margaret and the Eucharist Museum. Other highlights include the Basilica of
Sacre Coeur and the Chapel of St Claude in honour of St Margaret Mary’s
Spiritual Director. This afternoon we travel to Taize, the tiny hillside
community referred by Bl Pope John Paul II as “that little springtime”.

Day 12 Sunday 29 May – Paray le Monial – Nevers -Tours (B/D)
After breakfast (taking our luggage wit us) at 11.00am we attend Mass at the
Basilica Sanctuary. After Mass we leave Paray Le Monial and start on our
journey of the Loire Valley to Tours stopping in Nevers. Here we have a brief
stop to visit the Convent of St Gildard where St Bernadette’s incorrupt body
reposes and may be viewed. Rest of the day at leisure.

Day 13 Monday 30 May – Tours (B/D)
After breakfast we visit the ancient city of Tours including St. Martin’s Basilica.
This afternoon we start our visits to the Chateaux de La Loire with Azay le
Rideaux and Chambray. Overnight Oceania Univers Tours Hotel (or similar).
5. Day 14 Tuesday 31 May – Chateaux de La Loire (B/D)
Early breakfast to stat on a full day tour of the chateaux – Chenonceau ,
Cheverny, Amboise, Blois, Chambord.

Day 15 Wednesday 01 June – Tours – Chartres – Mont St. Michel (B/D)
After breakfast depart Tours via Chartres for Mont Saint Michel. Our journey
takes us on to the great Cathedral city of Chartres where we enter inside the
magnificent 13th century Chartres Cathedral, a medieval architectural wonder
and home to the Holy Veil, said to be worn by the Blessed Virgin Mary when she
gave birth to Jesus. There will be the opportunity to see the most famous
labyrinth in the world, built around the year 1200 and sometimes called the
“Chemin de Jerusalem” or Road of Jerusalem.
Departing Chartres, we continue on to the beautiful island of Mont-Saint-
Michel. According to legend, the archangel Michael appeared to St. Aubert,
Bishop of Avranches, in 709 and instructed him to build a chapel on the rocky
islet. Soon after, he sent a group of monks to live on the island.

Day 16 Thursday 02 June – Mont St. Michel – Full Day Tour (B/D)
This morning we will meet our guide for a tour of the island. A highlight of our visit
here will be the Benedictine Abbey, which during the French Revolution was turned into
a prison. We plan to join the community here for an inspiring chanted Mass. During our
tour we will also see the Chapelle de Notre Dame sous Terre (Underground Chapel of
Our Lady). It was built in the late 10th century in the very place that St Aubert
erected the oratory in the 8th century. An opportunity to discover the 14th century
residence, Tiphanie’s House, that Bertrand Duguesclin had built in 1365 for his wife
Tiphaine (furnitures, paintings, tapestries). Overnight Hotel Mercure (or similar).
6. Day 17 Friday 03 June – Mont St. Michel – Lisieux – Paris (B/D)
After breakfast we travel east to Lisieux, one of the world’s premier pilgrimage
sites and home to St Therese, the ‘Little Flower’, whom Pope Pius X called ‘the
greatest saint of modern times’. On arrival we enjoy a tour of Lisieux visiting
the family home of Les Buissonets, the Carmelite Convent Chapel with its
reliquary of the saint and St Therese’s Basilica. After lunch we depart Lisieux
for Paris stopping at Giverny to visit Monet’s Gardens. There are two parts in
Monet's garden: a flower garden called Clos Normand in front of the house and a
Japanese inspired water garden on the other side of the road. The two parts of
Monet's garden contrast and complement one another. Overnight in Paris Hotel

Day 18 Saturday 04 June – Paris (B)
After breakfast all day at leisure to discover the wonders of Paris
Day19 Friday 05 June – Paris (B)

7. Terms and Conditions
Not included in the tour: Items of a personal nature, such as incidental hotel expenses
(including phone calls, room service, laundry); Meals not indicated on the itinerary; drinks with
meals; Expenses for any activities not included on the itinerary or listed as optional; insurance;
and of course all personal shopping.
Payment: A non-refundable deposit of AU$1,000 per person is required at time of booking.
Full payment is due no later than 50 days prior to departure unless otherwise requested. All
payments are made to Rheom Travel. Price subject to change until paid in full.
Late Bookings: Bookings made less than 50 days before the tour date will only be accepted if
full payment is received when booking. Late booking fees may be charged if applicable.
Changes to Itineraries: Rheom Travel reserves the right to amend or vary the itinerary or
other services nominated in the tour should circumstances warrant that such changes would be
in the best interest of participants or any other operational or security reason. The right is
reserved to decline to accept any person, or to terminate any person’s participation in the tour
at the Company’s discretion at any time during the course of the tour.
Travelling Alone: Single rooms are offered for a supplement, but are subject to availability.
Cancellation and Refund Policy: All cancellations must be made in writing. Cancellations
made outside 50 days from departure are subject to 50% refund excluding a Non Refundable
Deposit of $1,000. Cancellations made less than 50 days prior to departure are non-
refundable. No refund is given for any part of the Tour in which you choose not to participate.
It is highly recommended that travel insurance be taken out once deposits have been paid.
Quotes of travel insurance can be given on request.
