What’s this all about?
Ever since we watched that famous scene in Back to the
Future II where Marty rides a hoverboard, we have been
waiting for technology companies to make our dreams come
true.
There have been many fake attempts but now a Californian
start-up company has been working on a real hoverboard.
Floating Future
Arx Pax is attempting to crowdfund the Hendo Hoverboard as
proof of its concept for hover engine technology. The
Kickstarter campaign is hoping to raise $250,000 to put the
device into full production.
The Hendo board is on its 18th prototype and the advances
made on each enables it to float 1 inch off the ground, and
even hovers with the weight of a fully grown man on top.
Why design a hoverboard?
As fun as the current product is, it is not the end goal for the
Hendo engine as they hope to develop it into an emergency
lifting system that could raise buildings. This could be
implemented if there was a natural disaster such as an
earthquake or tornado.
So what now?
