According to The Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and Substances Hazardous to Health [COSHH]
Regulations, employers have a legal duty to prevent work-related skin disease by assessing risks
associated with and minimising skin contact with hazardous substances.
According to these regulations an employer must provide skin cleansers, creams, adequate washing
facilities and ensure employees are given correct instruction and the training required to use these
