4. INTRODUCTION
“Water is life” is well known tag line. How, when, and how much water should be
intake is today’s life style. Lots of guidance can get from internet for intake of water.
That is may be guidance or misguidance. 5-6 lit water in a day is advised by many of
doctors. Importance of water is mentioned in our Ayurveda Samhita.Amount and
nature of water is also advised in Ayurvedic texts.
Water counteracts fatigue
Water enhances the radiance of the skin
It prevents digestive problems
It calms the mind and provides satisfaction
Water refreshes and is easily absorbed by the body
Water is life-giving
According to Ayurveda, how much water you should drink depends on various factors,
such as age, work load, stress levels, weather, diet and your constitutional
type(Prakruti).The warm Pitta types are generally thirstier than the Kapha types.
Water should be intake according to weather (Rutu) as mentioned in Ayurvedic
Samhita. Polluted water or improper way of taken water can cause Ajeern, Shiroga
and many diseases. Now we get chlorinated water for drink and other use cause
lots of harm in our life unknowingly.
