In 1986, Dr. Buscemi completed his General Surgery residency at the Lincoln Medical
and Mental Health Center in New York City. He completed his Urology Residency at The
University of Buffalo and Roswell Park Cancer Center in Buffalo, New York, from 1986 to
1989.
He began his career at the Lehigh Valley Medical Center in Allentown, Pennsylvania,
after completing his Urology residency. In 1991, he became Board Certified in Urology.
Dr. Buscemi relocated to St. Lawrence County in Northern New York in 1992. He founded
and became the managing partner of St. Lawrence Urology Associates. He has worked
for Canton Potsdam Hospital, Massena Memorial Hospital, and E.J. Noble Hospital in
Gouverneur, New York, for over thirty years. He was the Chief of Urology at the time.
In 1995, he founded and became President of the North Country Physicians
Organization. This organization managed relationships between physicians, medical
centers, and insurance companies. This organization was instrumental in helping to
improve HMO Healthcare in the area. This was extremely beneficial to the many patients
in this very rural community in upstate New York. He has been a member of the
American Urologic Association, the American Board of Urology, and the American
Medical Association for over 30 years. He has remained a dedicated and well-respected
Board Certified Urologist. Dr. Buscemi has worked as a clinical instructor for medical
students, physician assistants, and nurse practitioners for many years.
