The African Peer Review Panel held its 62nd meeting in Monrovia, Liberia to meet with the new Chairperson of the African Peer Review Forum, Liberian President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf. The panel's chairperson introduced the delegation to President Sirleaf and updated her on the African Peer Review Mechanism's programs. President Sirleaf expressed support for the mechanism and pledged her commitment to its work. The African Peer Review Mechanism was established in 2003 by the African Union to monitor governance in member states, with 33 countries having joined and 17 completing peer reviews.
