Dr. Brian Strahl is a research scientist in the field of chromatin biology and gene expression at the University of North Carolina (UNC) School of Medicine. Dr. Strahl has been at UNC since 2001, where he has published a wide number of studies in the chromatin field while also teaching and mentoring aspiring scientists who work in his laboratory. Brian Strahl's laboratory studies how histone post-translstional modifications contribute to gene expression and other DNA-based events. After earning an undergraduate degree at UNC-G, Dr. Strahl continued his studies at North Carolina State University, where he earned a doctorate degree. Brian Strahl performed his postdoc work with David Allis.
