1. The new Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) system implemented at WSTF is
a prime example of innovation and the "team" attitude shared at this facility. This
project was a joint collaboration between the two prime contractors, NTEC and
EASI, to solve a long-standing issue ofasset accountability and property
management. This system is NASA's first successful implementation of an RFID
asset and property management system. With this system's integration of Google
Maps™, it allows for real-time tracking to show an item's exact location on site.
This project was made possible by the efforts ofJim Edwin, NTEC Business
Manager; Jim Watkins, FOSC Business Manager; Ben Sanders, NTEC Financial
IT Systems Administrator, who designed, installed, and deployed the system; and
Peter Heredia, FOSC Logistics Supervisor, who implemented, integrated, and
now maintains the system.
