Aeronautics Sponsors STEM Outreach Abroad
HYDERABAD, INDIA, April 5, 2013 -- On April 4, middle and high school students from
Mosaica International School of Hyderabad visited the Tata Lockheed Martin
Aerostructures, Ltd., factory for a field trip focused on science, technology, engineering
and math (STEM).
Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Senior Manager Frank Titzler led the students on a facility
tour and discussed the role of an engineer and the education required by those
interested in going into the aerospace field. He also showed videos highlighting the
production of C-130 aircraft and explained how the work being done in the Hyderabad
factory is coordinated with that at the Aeronautics – Marietta, Ga., facility.
Students who went on the field trip are children of expatriates currently working in
Hyderabad, and represent countries such as the United States, the United Kingdom,
Canada, Australia and New Zealand. Tata Lockheed Martin Aerostructures, Ltd., is a
joint venture between Tata, an Indian company, and Lockheed Martin Aeronautics
Company in the United States. It is the first Lockheed Martin joint venture in India.
