SURVEY LOCATION: Norfolk International Terminals
Norfolk, VA
Acting upon a request by Mr. David Sun of Friendship Transport Inc., undersigned surveyor did,
on June 26 & July 07, 2007 attend on the Norfolk International Terminals, Norfolk, VA in order to
inspect a Siemens Generator and to witness the loading and securing of a this Generator on board
the mv Rotterdam Express.
We found that the Generator had arrived by rail on or about June 25 2007 and was located on Pier
I Southside. We found the Generator in excellent condition, free of any visible damages.
On July 07, 2007, during the loading operation also in attendance were Mr. Sirish Kasarabada of
Eagle Maritime Consultants Inc., representing Siemens Westinghouse Power Corp. and Mr. James
Reiter of the National Cargo Bureau representing Hapag Lloyd.

08:18 Floating Crane in position.
08:20 – 08:45 Securing conference next to railcar with generator.
08:45 Slings positioned on Generator. Started to burn off last 4 securing bolts.
09:03 Start lifting Generator
09:07 Generator free from railcar
09:55 Flat racks and steel I beams in position in Bay 38
10:04 Floating Crane alongside vessel, start maneuvering to come in position.
10:34 Generator makes soft contact with container OOLU 559766-3
10:50 Generator positioned on beams in Bay 38
12:20 Completed securing of Generator.
Securing
The securing followed more or less the plan as prepared by Hapag LLoyd
Generator: Twenty four Chain & Turnbuckle lashings each side. Two on each end.
