1. THE BIO·DEGRADABLE PROCESS.
Sic-Degradable Plastics, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary 01 American Western Corp.. has
:lMloped a process resulting In a complex chemical reaction which is accelerated by sunlight and
nen is self-sustaining through photo-oxidation to achieve decomposition allhe plastic. The result of
L'lis degradation is a product which can be consumed by commonly occurring microorganisms.
The sequence 01photographs below, clearly shows Sia-Degradable Plastics, Inc. decomposition
process in action on a product under normal conditions.
Photo 1 - 0 days. Aclean. liner-free environment.
Photo 2 - 5 days. Olscarded product made with new Blo·Oegradable plastic.
Photo 3 - 30·90 days. Product begins to break apart signaling that decompositionis well underway.
Photo 4 - 60-120 days. Corrtinued decomposition leaves product totally Iragmented.
Photo 5 - 90·150 days. Decomposition 01 product is almost totally complete with only very small
pieces and fine powder remaining.
Photo 6 - 1)..12 months. Once again, a litter-tree environment with no evidence of discarded product.

PlssllC$, Inc.
.'-DllradI~. PfastiCi. IIlc.. a wholly owned subsidiary, Is In the business of marketing
additives to the plastic industry which will make various plastics biodegradable, and In the business of
seiling licensing agreements to various manufacturers 01 plastic products.
Abiodegradable product is one that will break down into tiny particles which can be consumed by
micro-organisms and exhumed back into the life cycle. Extensive studies to date have shown that
plastics are definitely not biodegradable. 8ia-Degradable Plastics has come up with an additive that
will in lact make plaslics biodegradable. The po!ential impact is stunning.
Bic-Degradable Plastics, Inc. is currently selling Its addltfve to the American Western Container
Division, which In turn Is manufacturing biodegradable lids for sale to the Institutional food markets.
Bio-Degradable Plastics expects in the near future to substantially increase its volumes by seiling ad
ditional additives to the Container Division when Ihe cup machines come on stream, and by seiling sub
stantial quantities of the addllive to the Film Division for the production runs af biodegradable plastic
bags.
As consumer demand for biodegradable products increases, the pressure on various manufac
turing companies becomes more intense. We feel that legislation at the state and federal level Is in
evitable. In fact, several states have already taken steps to eliminate many kinds 01 liner causing con
tainers. Our biodegradableadditive should solve this problemwherever plastic containers are involved.
Our expectations for the profitability of Bio-Degradable Plastics, Inc. is obviously very high.
However, the major Question is not ii, but when. We are In discussion with several major firms regard
ing licensing agreemenls. It is unknown al this lime if these agreements will be consurrmated within
the ne>:t month or within the next year.
In any event. we are extremely confident that the day will come when all disposable plastic
products will be biodegradable. We expect Blo-Oegradable Plastics. fnc. to be the major factor In the
business of supplying biodegradable additives.
