Good evening and welcome. My name is Dan Williams and we are here tonight to help you protect and distribute your wealth in uncertain times. I am a primary resident of Wellfleet and an investment advisor representative with ING Financial Partners. I’m also the founder of Wellfleet Wealth Inc. with offices in Wellfleet and Canton, Ma. With me tonight is my colleague Steve Houlihan, founding partner of Houlihan & Muldoon, and an adjunct professor at Suffolk University Law School, teaching Federal Estate and Gift Taxation. As you know, we are living in some unprecedented times with a great deal of volatility and uncertainty. Our clients are increasingly concerned about how to effectively preserve their wealth for retirement, mitigate taxes and ensure that their loved ones are taken care of and their legacy is passed on. So tonight we want to give you an overview of ways you can address these concerns.
Present our consultative approach to wealth management. With over 20 years in the consulting field, my focus is on helping clients think through what is best for them, their business and family. Even though it is now the rage for financial advisors to call themselves “wealth managers,” few actually use a true wealth management model. A CEG Worldwide study of more than 2,000 financial advisors found that just 6.6 percent are actually performing higher levels of advance financial planning and relationship management (collaborating with a team of experts in various disciplines.) The remaining advisors are investment generalists, with various levels of effectiveness. So, our focus is on advance planning and providing clients with a team of experts to address what are often unique client issues. And we are finding that more clients are concerned about such issues as losing their wealth, having enough money in retirement, tax mitigation, security and legacy planning.
So, our mission is to act as your personal CFO over your life time.
