I am writing this reference to Daniel Ahmed, who I have known since June 2016 when he began a summer
internship within the Marketing & BusinessDevelopment Department at Chesapeake Employers’ Insurance
Company. From June 2016 until August 2016, Daniel displayed strong data analysis and problemsolving skills.
Daniel evaluated historical data sets for 22,000 policyholders and made recommendations on how to improve
company profitability. Daniel’s analysis and report included an Excel data model that aided the decision making
process of underwriters at Chesapeake Employers.
Chesapeake Employers’ operates primarily in one state (Maryland), but has an appetite for expansion into
Maryland’s bordering states. During the summer months, Daniel examined macro-economic data related to
Delaware, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia,Washington DC, and West Virginia. Daniel evaluatedand ranked
these states with consideration of unemployment rates, payroll growth rates, workforce demographics, and
industry segmentation as part of a business expansion recommendation.
Daniel is a courteous and professional individual who quickly grasped general business conceptsrelated to
insurance and displayed a preference data-driven decision making. Daniel made strong connections with
