Dhea Alfay has over 30 years of experience as a senior trans-cranial Doppler technologist and vascular ultrasound technologist. He received a Bachelor of Science in Medicine and Surgery from the College of Medicine in Baghdad, Iraq in 1979 and has held memberships in ARDMS and PAC. Currently, he works as an independent contractor performing transcranial Doppler studies, vascular ultrasound exams, and advanced studies to evaluate patients at multiple hospitals and doctors' offices around the Los Angeles area. Throughout his career, he has received hands-on training in various medical centers and uses his expertise to educate and promote the use of trans-cranial Doppler screening.

knowledge, Education and promote the use of TCD in daily screening of vast section of
patients around LB area with a relatively cheap modality; yet very specific and sensitive,
making work much easier and fruitful. My work is usually complimentary to Neurology,
Neurosurgery and Neuro-interventional radiology in addition to Vascular Surgery and

As a senior TCD tech., I perform all known Trans-cranial Doppler studies. These TCD
studies include: Serial TCD evaluation for Subarachnoid Hemorrhage, Pre and Post
Stroke Evaluation; in addition to the advanced studies of Vasomotor Reactivity to
evaluate patients with high grade Stenoses, Spontaneous Emboli Detection, Bubble
Studies for Patent Foramen Ovale detection, Intra-Operative Emboli Monitoring for
Aortic Stenting and other vascular procedures. Also Sickle Cell Anemia Screening, Sub-
Clavian Steal Syndrome, Vertebro-Basilar Syndrome and insufficiency, Estimate ICP &
Confirm Cerebral Circulatory Collapse, The New use of Doppler in Clot Busting with tPa
and so on and so forth. . I work as a mobile technologist in multiple major hospitals and
doctor's offices around Los Angeles area. I prepare the patients for each study as well as
explaining the study to them in a simple relaxing way to create suitable atmosphere.

Ultrasound Technologist- Externship
I was trained in a hands-on externship under the supervision of an experienced Vascular
Technologist performing vascular ultrasound procedures. I also prepared the patients for
the examinations and scanned the patients operating the GE 700 Pro. I also presented the
results to the radiologist for evaluation and diagnostic review.
