This document provides information about a DIY workshop on making handmade paper that was held in November 2013 in Salt Lake City and sponsored by Cricut. The workshop instructor Brady Burrows explained how to form paper using a deckle box by mixing paper scraps, water, and calcium carbonate in a blender to make pulp, submerging the deckle box and filling it with pulp, and allowing the paper to dry. Attendees also learned how to use a handmade bottle jack press to squeeze excess water from the paper and how to iron dried paper to remove any remaining water. The workshop recommended adding a solid paper scrap on top of drying pulp for visual effect and showed how to print on handmade paper.
