CPM Training Systems provides integrated training systems including an LMS (Learning Management System), FAST (Field Assessment System Technology), and iPad-based electronic field assessments to more cost-effectively deliver and manage training. The LMS allows for online learning and assessments, while FAST utilizes iPads and a database interface for electronic field assessments. A cost-benefit analysis found that using an LMS module for HSE refresher training saved $306 per person compared to traditional in-person training, resulting in potential savings of $193,698 every two years for CPM's 633 employees and contractors.

3. Difference between LMS &
FAST
LMS – Our on line learning system which has 2 types of content/options:
a.a formal on line learning/competence assessment module which when
completed provides the individual with an assessment of Competent or NYC.
This will be used for most knowledge based Compliances & Competencies
which require an assessment e.g. HSE Refresher,
b.Self learning based content which is purely for information/knowledge in a
learner guide format with the option of a “self assessment” – this would have
no link to INX database if an assessment option is not chosen e.g. Pit to Port
FAST – is simply the technology (iPad/WiFi/INX Database interface)to conduct
field assessments which assists us in “bypassing” the use of paper and manual
data input and electronically updates INX
6. Cost Benefit Analysis
• A cost benefit analysis was done between the traditional
“Trainer ” versus LMS method of training delivery and
assessment.
• The HSEC Refresher module was used to make this comparison.
• HSEC Refreshers have a 2 year expiry which requires all CPM
employees / direct contractors to renew this compliance every
2 years.
• Based on a group of 10 participants the analysis showed a
direct cost saving of $306 per person using the LMS
• If we make the assumption that we have 633 (08/13)
employees it means a saving of $193 698 every 2 years using
only 1 on line module
