Winter Fashion: How to Stay Fashionably Warm this Season
By Christine Johnson
It is the time to wrap up warm for winter, but there's no need to stop looking fashionable!
These fashion trends for this winter will let you retain good fashion sense while also staying
warm, and with versatility, there is something to suit all styles and body shapes.
Since winter is one of the coldest seasons, the fashion tones may vary within different
shades. Winter colors are vibrant, dramatic and sophisticated. There cool colors and are best
accented with white, gold or platinum. Burgundy, brown, purple, and blue are all great winter
colors. Winter is also one of the best seasons to wear pure white or black.
“Fashion is how one expresses themselves. Infinity scarves, baggy sweaters, light denim
jeans, long socks, and Ugg boots are my favorite winter apparel,” Markell Northam, freshman
and Phycology major, said.
Most athletic teams have to wake up early in the morning for workouts or practice, and
that may not allow them to dress up all of the time when it is finally time for class. There are
different ways to wear your school’s apparel and still be in the seasons fashion.
“As a female athlete staying warm and fashionable along with games is sometimes hard
but we are all team oriented when it comes to wearing our warm ups. We got warm North Face’s
and new Jordan’s. We looked like appropriate athletes and still maintained a warm and
fashionable look,” Te’Anna Johnson, freshman and athletic training major, said.
The universities student body is showered in Averett apparel such as sweatshirts, hoodies,
and other outerwear. This winter you can be in style and still support your school. Averett’s
“Averett University” logo sweater is a warm and fashionable piece. The sweater’s vintage style
can go great with any winter color infinity scarf, pants of your choice, and Ugg style boots for a
womens outfit. Men can also be in fashion with this vintage styled sweater by accessorizing it
with khaki pants and polo styled dark brown boots.
“There is nothing better than a pair of leggings matched with leg warmers. The leg
warmers give you comfort throughout the cold winter and still keeps you fashionable,” Brittany
Fullwood, freshman and nursing major, said.
Winter is near and these fashion tips will allow you to stay warm while making it easier
for you to pick out a modish and reasonable outfit for the season.
