ST. ALBERT TO BE ONE LOCATION FOR UPCOMING NBC SERIES
Episode directed by Mary Harron will use parts of downtown and river valley
Portions of St. Albert’s downtown and river valley will once again be captured on film, this
time for an episode of Fear Itself, NBC’s upcoming suspense and horror anthology series
produced by Lionsgate and Industry Entertainment. Director Mary Harron, whose credits
include American Psycho and The Notorious Betty Page, will bring a cast and crew of
more than 150 people to St. Albert to begin filming on March 7th
.
St. Albert locations for the shoot will include: St. Albert Place, the downtown river valley
and various shops. Filming will be complete by March 17th
and the series is expected to
premiere on NBC this summer.
“Our city offers some wonderful locations for filming,” explains Cathy Clarke, Director of
Cultural Services. “We welcome the filmmakers, their cast and crews who will be working
on this production.”
The City’s Cultural Services department has been working closely with Fear Itself
Productions to have this project filmed in St. Albert. In preparation, other City departments
are providing support and ensuring residents and businesses are aware of the project and
are prepared for any temporary roadway, facility or other site closures.
“It’s great to see film projects being made in St. Albert,” said Nolan Crouse, Mayor of St.
Albert. “Having productions taking place in the community presents both cultural and
economic development opportunities.”
With its picturesque landscape and celebrated arts and cultural scene, St. Albert is an
ideal location for film projects during any season of the year. These types of projects help
to raise the City’s profile, while making a positive impact on the local economy and
generating tourism interest in St. Albert.
