Vintage-Cars
1. Personalizing Your Vintage Cars
Vintage cars are distinguished as vehicles produced between 1919 and sometime before the
Second World War. Vehicles from this time period are difficult to find which makes increases the
value of the vehicle. Serious collectors tend to prefer restoring or recreating the original look of
the vehicle although the same is not true for everyone. There are numerous accessories and
upgrades you can avail of to enhance the look and feel of riding a vintage. Here are a number of
options you can consider.
Instruments
Driving instruments are devices that you need to use while driving your vintage car. This
includes instruments on your dashboard such as the speedometer and tachometer among
others. You can opt to have it restored to its original look, use a design from a different model or
create your own design. Another consideration is having a navigational system installed on your
vehicle. This just makes driving easier so you will not need to bring lots of maps for the trip.
Electronic Devices
Just because you are driving a vintage does not mean you need to stick to the original 8-track or
cassette players used during those times. Have an mp3 player or DVD player installed instead
to play all of your favorite songs and movies while driving. When adding any type of electronic
device, keep in mind that each device still requires a source of power to run. Having too many
installed on your vehicle can add a strain on your engine or car battery. Consult a professional
mechanic to make sure your car still has enough power to run.
Accessories
If you want to give your car some personality, consider installing a customized horn. The sound
of a customized horn is bound to turn a few heads whether you are driving on the street or
presenting your work of art in a car show. Another important consideration is having a car
alarm installed on your vehicle. A vintage car is still an expensive vehicle, with or without the
customized features. Car alarms may not totally protect your vehicle but can help deter thieves
from driving away with it.
Other Design Details
Adding a bit of flash to one or all of your vintage cars can be as simple as adding a few flames
across the sides of the vehicle, changing the overall paint job or changing the entire interior. If
you want, you can have the mats and all of the seats replaced. Just make sure that the changes
do not go against the overall theme or look you are going for.
