Carl Byington is the President of PHM Design, LLC, in Ellijay, Georgia. He began his career as a rocket scientist at the NASA Langley Research Center, where he designed combustors and fuel injection schemes used in advanced power plant systems. After leaving NASA, he spent time as a research engineer at the Penn State Applied Research Laboratory in State College, Pennsylvania, eventually moving into the position of Department Head. Subsequently, Carl was an owner and director at Impact Technologies where he developed solutions for aircraft and ship applications. Impact was acquired by Sikorsky Aircraft and then Lockheed Martin.
