MARKET WRAP
Indian markets end in red. Nifty, Sensex down by 0.66% & 0.42% respectively.
Wall St remains mixed over US Fed concern of rolling back easy money policy.
Asia-Pacific markets nosedived. Jakarta Composite crashed by over 8 percent.
Indian markets went down over uncertain macro-economic environment.
Unemployment claims in US at 336K. Asia-Pacific markets traded weak over uncertain
US Federal Reserve on QE. Germany’s Manufacturing PMI at 52. However, positive
manufacturing production numbers out of China and Germany helped to limit losses.US
Fed's hawkish message a lever for rates. Japan’s All Industries Activity Index falls. Nifty
is expected to be range bound and will move within the spread of 5280 to 5580 level.
Indian markets trimmed its losses in the last two days of trading. Rupee turns Senior
Citizen; breaches 65 levels. RBI steps in to save Rupees plunge. FII’s seems to be
offloading long positions. Gold, Silver prices went up over heavy demand due to festive
season which further got aggravated due to falling domestic currency. The movement of
the rupee and trend in investment by FII’s will dictate near term trend on the bourses.
Nifty went down by 36 pts, closed at 5471. Sensex down by 78 pts, closed at 18519.
World markets traded weak due to negative global macroeconomic cues. Europe
ended mixed with FTSE going up by 0.14%, DAX by 0.49%, while CAC went down by
1.24%. US markets remain mixed with S&P 500 up by 0.30%, NASDAQ by 1.52%,
while DJIA went down by 0.64% over Fed concern regarding QE rollback. Asian indices
fared low with Hang Seng going down by 2.91%, KOSPI by 2.59%, KLSE by 3.74%.,
Straits Times by 3.40%, while Jakarta led the drop by massive 8.73%. Nikkei ended flat.
