2. How I find the right talent
As a recruiter, what do I actually do? I get asked that question all the time. The answer is that I
find the right person with the right experience and skills who will fit into the culture of the
organization. The process I use involves a number of steps:
1. Get briefed on the job including a detailed job description.
2. I advertise and promote the job through a number of targeted online places including
Linkedin of course
3. I screen a long list of potential candidates who match the job description to make sure that
they have the skills to do the job. I also look for fit within the organization
4. The long list is culled down to a short list of candidates that I personally interview. Then and
only then do I submit candidates to my client for the position
From start to finish I can usually complete the above 4 steps within 4 weeks. My clients know
that they are getting high quality. The best complement I can get is, "Choosing one was a tough
decision".
