4. Overview:
You are required to get into groups of 4
Each group manufactures and produces paper aeroplane toys for kids.
The paper aeroplanes are inspected by the purchasing company before
bought, to ensure quality control
You will be producing your product for 3 months (15 minute rounds)
The aim is to maximise your profit and reduce wastage
The team with the highest profit over all 3 rounds wins, good luck!

Brief and Rules:
There will be 3 rounds (months) and the aim is to make as many
paper planes as possible during each round (month)
Each round (month) will consist of 15 minutes, so time management
is important
You will be required to buy all the materials/tools you think you will
need before the round starts
You will be unable to buy materials/tools once the round begins
You will be required to fill in your costs section for each round, at the
start of each round and then fill in the revenue section at the end
once inspection has taken place
Any left over paper cannot be used in the next round, it is classed
as money wasted

Each additional piece of paper cost £5.00
A pair of scissors per round cost £10.00
A ruler cost £3.00 per round

8. Tips for Rounds 2 & 3:
Try to focus on the distribution of labour and specialisation; let each
person do a specific job, as part of a production line
Ensure quality control; planes are perfect (all sides match up
perfectly and folds are accurate) and can fly the required distance
(2m)
Maximise profit and minimise wastage; don’t buy too many pieces of
paper, time management is essential
Don not buy unnecessary tools/materials, it reduces your profit
margin
Decorate your planes with colours etc. to make them eye-catching

For this round there is an extra
requirement for each plane
They are all required to have a star, like
the one to the right drawn on them
This needs to be visibly on the outside of
the plane
It can be placed anywhere you wish,
however all the planes in that batch need
to have it placed in the same place
