A senior at South Dakota State University,
Brittany Kuecker works hard at her studies
and at her job as desk manager for a major
motel chain. Her studious efforts brought
reward when she earned a valued place on
the SDSU dean’s List.

3. 
Eight colleges comprise South Dakota State
University at Brookings. Students who make
the dean’s list have met a rigorous set of
criteria in course load and in academic
achievement. To qualify for the dean’s list,
students must complete at least 12 college
credits. Students must carry a minimum 3.5
grade point average (GPA) calculated on a
4.0 grading scale. When students earn a
perfect GPA, they receive an asterisk on the
dean’s list announcement.

The South Dakota State University
publications office circulates the list every
semester. The publications office manages
nine university publications. Each magazine
and newsletter provides insight into student,
staff, and faculty activities, and
communicates vital information to the school
and to the wider community. The office has
earned numerous awards for meeting a high
standard of excellence.
