As Scale-up Enabler for the West of England, I often talk about the challenges of raising investment for scale-up founders. To encourage greater transparency and build awareness, I have put together all the finance related organisations that I know of in one place. The West of England Scale-up Enabler, Briony Phillips is funded by Business West, Engine Shed, The University of Bristol and the West of England Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP). This group have a shared ambition which has led to the creation of this role – first, to identify scale-up businesses in the West of England region and to better understand their challenges and second, to design, facilitate and support initiatives that will make it easier for businesses to scale-up more effectively – in the long term.
