• First priority for Solar and renewable energy
• In 2016, total installed power generation capacity of the country was
4,018 MW, consisting of 1,384 MW of coal power, 1,215 MW of oil
burning thermal power, 1,384 MW of hydro power and 519 MW of
non-conventional renewable energy sources such as wind, mini
hydro, biomass and solar power plants
• India has established nearly 42 solar parks to make land available to
the promoters of solar plants. India expanded its solar-generation
capacity 8 times from 2,650 MW on 26 May 2014 to over 20 GW as
on 31 January 2018.
