Fanciful magazine is an online and print based magazine. I always
wanted to have my own blog or magazine, and put out there all my
creativity. I am strongly passionated about writing and design, so what
a better idea than finally sarting it? To be honest, it was an ‘accident’
the creation of this magazine.
When I first started writing, it was just a small, very badly designed
blog where I posted a couple a of news stories to help me improve my
skills as a writer, turns out people liked it and started reading more and
more. The blog grew to a magazine and others joined in, all passionated
about the same as me. Entertainment, creaitivity and design is what we
best do. I am very proud of how far we have come.

SIA’S NEW ALBUM
“THIS IS ACTING”
WILL BE OUT SOON
Who doesn’t know which song is Chande-
lier, Elastic Heart or Fire Meet Gasoline? Sia
brings a new single, Alive, included in her up-
coming album, This Is Acting. This song was
written by Adele, but she rejected the song,
so Sia decided to take it ‘This is a song
about Adele’s life, so I sing a song from the
perspective of Adele’, Said Sia to NME.
The new Sia’s project is called This Is
Acting because it is the continuation
of her last album, 1000 Forms of
Fear, and it was build up by songs
written for other people. ‘It is not
something I would say, it is more
such as an action game, it is funny’,
said Sia about about the title of her
new album.
Probably This is acting comes out at
the end of 2015. If not, it will see
the light at the beginning of 2016.

Youtube star Troye Sivan and his blue neigh-

As if that wasn’t enough Troye has ofcially

I have known of Tyler for months know

inspiration for anyone struggling with
their gender identity or sexuality. They
recently came to my attention, again,
when a video was being shared around
my Twitter timeline of them talking to
StyleLikeU entitled “Move over, Gender
Binary!: Tyler Ford”.
The video shows Tyler talking about
their experience of gender expecta-
tions and roles in society and their own
personal transition from being assigned
female at birth, to male, to a non bina-
ry person. During the video Tyler also
strips down to their boxers showing
their own personal style and how they
rock it.
I love Tyler and hope they continue
with all the cool work that they’re
doing so they can continue to inspire
people every day , whilst rocking vari-
ous different looks doing it.

Good news for the English indie rock band fans:
Foals have just confirmed the dates of their
first arena tour. Following a #3 chart position
thanks to their acclaimed album “What Went
Down”, the five-piece band has now released
the most important dates of their musical ca-
reer. Starting from February 10th, the band will
be around the UK for ten days and perform at
the famous Wembley Arena on Tuesday 16th
for a night to remember.
The UK tour comes as the cherry on top of
a year that saw the indie rock band dropping
their fourth album that commanded a top 20
chart position for four weeks. Their last album
also features the homonym single “What Went
Down” that earned an incredible Radio 1 sup-
port and past 2.4 million views on YouTube.
The album was launched at The Village Under-
ground this year with a quite intimate show
but Foals surprised everyone at the Reading

DOCUMENTARY TO
HIT THEATRES
It is been four years since Adele released her last
album, 21. Now, we could now that her new album
will be named 25, because of her age nowadays. The
album will feature tracks produced by the successful
Swedish artist Max Martin, who has also produced
tracks for Britney Spears and Taylor Swift.
During the four years that have elapsed since the re-
lease of 21, Adele has not stopped working. In 2012
she recorded a theme for the James Bond’s movie
Skyfall for which she won an Academy Award and in
October of the same year she had her first son, Angel
had, with her partner Simon Konecki.

8.If I Ever Fall In Love(feat. Jason Derulo) JA-
SON DERULO KILLS THESE VOCALS. I think his high note might
have killed half of the people that have heard this song and
the a cappella style of Pentatonix make it sound extremely
well put together.
9.Cracked - The song with the best riffs and a cappella
drops I’ve ever heard. Also previewed on the documentary
cracked wasn’t originally supposed to be on the album but the
demand from fans made Pentatonix decide otherwise. Cracked
is definetely a party tune.
10.Water - Kirstins lead and a song that reminds me a
little bit of one of their previous songs ‘see through’. Kirstins
lead vocals accompanied by backing manage to make this song
sound extremely complicated but in the best way possible.
11.Take Me Home - Another song with a slower tem-
po but very delightful atmosphere surrounding it. A very 90s
esque vibe and killed with nice sounding harmonies I can’t get
enough of.
12. New Years Day - Although maybe considered as
a seasonal song New Years Day gives off such a good message
about being happy and spending your life having a good time
with the people you love, even if it means celebrating simple
things. I love this song a lot because its a great reminder to
keep your friends close and be happy.
13.Light In The Hallway - The most sweet sound-
ing lullaby I’ve ever heard with the best fitting lead vocals
from Avi. Light in the hallway was written by Scott and Mitch
for Scotts nephew Landon and was originally going to be called
Landons Song. I have to admit when I first heard this song
I teared up more than a little bit and I can’t get enough of
listening to the lyrics and harmonies.
Last night 5 piece a cappella band Pen-
tatonix released their self entitled debut
album for worldwide released, heres
what I think
1. Na Na Na - A completely feel good song, with Mitch
as the lead Na Na Na is a great song to dance to and use for
a little dance party. Na Na Na is a great opener to the album
setting an immediate happy and upbeat vibe.
2.Cant Sleep Love - The first single from the album
featuring female rapper Tink. Cant Sleep Love is also an ex-
tremely feel good song which is great for a mini dance party.
3.Sing - With the video just being released sing is a song
about forgetting your problems through music and letting your-
self let go for a while, a great song for if you’re feeling down
and need to sing your problems away with.
4. Misbehavin - The first song with a slightly slower
tempo, misbehavin is about the fact even though the band are
constantly working and on tour away from their loved ones
they’ll always stay true and faithful to their partners.
5.Ref- Hardcore a capella critics and fans have had some
controversy over this song because of a whistle blown in part
of the song, however one whistle doesn’t really affect the au-
thenticity of the band and the rest of the song is still entirely
a cappella and impressively so.
6.First Things First - The song about the band being
tired of the music industries obsession with luxury. The chorus
of this one is a cool vibed raspy whisper that makes you want
to sassily lip sync along to it.

SELF HELP DANCE
MODEL 86
BY ELIZABETH ALVARADO
What do you get when you mix electronic, 90s hip
hop, and film score music? Enter London-based
producer, MODEL 86, whose debut EP is sure to
please at your next house party. Check out Fanci-
ful Magazine’s track-by-track review below.
1. SITTING DOWN & LOOKING – Incorporating a unique
blend of sounds (think wind chimes and jingling keys)
this track is a great way to start off the EP by show-
ing off MODEL 86’s wide range of musical styles in
less than 4 minutes.
2. CTRL – A mellow track with perfectly placed
breaths in the background, it mirrors the feeling you
get when you finally get to lay in bed after a long
day.
3. C.T.A.S – One of the more experimental tracks on
the album, it offers listeners a woozy blend of ambi-
ent type music. There’s a killer unexpected laugh in
the middle too.
4. FALLING FROM A BRIDGE – The film score influence
shines in this 28 second gem giving off the feeling
one might get from actually falling off a bridge.
5. FRIEND – As the cinematic glitches and punchy
beats swirl around in an unexpected melody this be-
comes one of the album’s best dance tracks.
6. LA – A true patchwork of musical styles, this
track keeps you guessing where it’s going while
still maintaining an element of harmony. No easy
feat.
7. SISTER – The perfect soundtrack for those
sleepless nights, Sister calms you right down and
relaxes the mind into a peaceful stream of ease
and peacefulness.
8. SELF HELP DANCE 86 – Providing a warped mix
of sounds, this track is definitely one of the stand
outs from this EP.
9. C20H21FN2O (OR WHAT IT’S LIKE WHEN I GO
COLD TURKEY OFF MY TABLETS) – The music per-
fectly reflects the emotions that would arise from
experiencing something as the title suggests. And
in the best possible way.
10. SWELL – The background voices add an ele-
ment of flair to this laidback tune.
11. THE NORTH (bonus track) – Cinematically
beautiful, this could quite possibly be what it feels
like to float through space.

It’s time for a review! Lets dig a little into the new
Nat Wolff and Emma Robert’s movie ‘Ashby’.
It really is not easy to be the new kid in school, and
soon Ed (Nat Wolff) will find when he moves to a
new town with his single mum June (Sarah Silver-
man). Starting off he is assigned at school to learn
more about the elder and their wisdom, which
pushes Ed to talk to his neighbour. They end up
becoming friends with Ashby (Mickey Rourke)
the neighbour, who used to be a CIA assassin. At
the same time, he also becomes very close with his
schoolmate Eloise (Emma Roberts).
Being honest, I would start saying there nothing
else to watch apart from what you see on the trail-
er. This is the typical high school movie really. The
viewer might expect the unexpected at the end as
it comes from a very well recognised director, but
seems like everyone leaves the cinema a bit disap-

ed. That does not change the fact that is an interesting
piece.
It just follows Ed being given life lessons by his ex CIA
assassin Ashby. I would say they threw in the CIA as-
sassin to try make it different, even if Ed goes throw
most cliche moments in high school movies. The mov-
ie in general is pretty good and interesting though. It
explores friendship and mortality in a way to catch the
attention of a large target audience.
Emma Roberts, indeed, was pretty good. I bad movie
does not make a bad actor, and here is Roberts to prove
it. She can definitely take over and smash it as a selfish
and bitchy teen in American Horror Story: Coven, as
well as a sweet young teen in Ashby, or even Palo Alto.
Nat Wolff, who also worked with Roberts in Palo Alto,
has to prove the same as her. They both are completely
capable to take over pretty much any role and fit it per-
fectly.

2015 is being a year of big releases
in the film industry, and I can say
Joe Wright’s “Pan” is one of them.
Starring Hugh Jackman, Rooney
Mara, Garrett Hedlund, Amanda Seyfried and, in-
troducing Levi Miller, we have the children’s tale
coming to life once again (lets not forget the 2003
film directed by P.J. Hogan “Peter Pan”).
Wright’s film follows a new take on the beginning of
the Lost Boy’s leader Peter Pan and the rest of char-
acters originally created by J.M. Barrie. Peter (Levi
Miller) is in desperate need to find his long-lost
mother (Amanda Seyfried) and find out why was he
left at the door of a miserable orphanage in London
as a baby.
Peter soon realises some children at the orphanage
is going missing, to then find out they are all being
taken by nocturne pirates on flying ships and taken
to a place called Neverland.
Until Peter and some of his friends at the orphanage
aretakenaway,everythingseemspretty“normal”like
any other movie taking place over the WWII. The
story starts to go pretty fast from there; he finds him-
self in a completely different place, with very strange
people but does not question anything or gets scared
and just start following the orders Blackbeard (Hugh
Jackman) gives, which is mining to find fairy’s pixie
dust. Apparently nobody else really questions this,
even if they are thousands and thousands of people
against one. Also, there is where Peter meets Hook
(Garrett Hedlund).
PAN
Directed by Joe Wrigth
Cast: Huhg Jackman, Rooney Mara,
Garrett Hedlund
Not trying to get out of this clearly unfair treat,
Peter gets in trouble after doing something right.
Blackbeard then decides to throw him from one
of his flying ships, but right before Peter gets to
the ground, turns out he can fly. These events lead
Blackbeard to worry about a old prophecy about
a flying boy who would end his life. Carrying on
from, would spill out everything else on the movie.
I would say this is such a weird scenario to see
Hugh Jackman in, after his action movies, but at
the same time he is an amazing and multitasking
actor, he took the role pretty well.
We then have Rooney Mara as Tiger Lily, who also
did well. But generalising the performances, I can’t
say they were great. Everything goes so fast, that
there is no time for any actual character develop-
ment. It could have been way better if wasn’t for
rush to the end of the movie, the lack of charac-
ter development and all the computerized cine-
matographic.
The movie is enjoyable, after all is for children’s and
young adults enjoyment mainly and they really
will enjoy it. I personally did after all. As a last, lets
not make a big deal about Cara Delevingne being
part of the cast because the two or three seconds
you see of her on trailer, is literally everything you
will see of her on the entire movie too.

This video is Tyler’s speech from his evening at Trevor Live where
he won the trevor projects youth innovator award for being a huge
help to them, through himself and his fans working with theTrevor
Project when he joined in 2010.
5. RECEIVING THE TREVORYOUTH INNOVATOR AWARD
With a very weird metaphor to go with a very interesting concept
Tyler talks about how you should have good standards for yourself
because if you’re delivering something to people with good quality
and they give you something 10x worse in return you shouldn’t
stand for it.
4.WHAT I LEARNED FROM PICKLE JUICE
Another self explanatory title, here Tyler lists 100 things that he
did and that he slayed doing during 2014, hopefully they’ll be an-
other one this year with 100 more cool things Tyler has managed.
3. 100 THINGS I DID IN 2014
No glory in the process is a video that pretty much tells the story of how
you have to work to be where you want, if you want something really
badly then you need to work to be there and the process of getting there
may not be fun but if the end result is worth it then do it.
2. NO GLORY IN THE PROCESS
I think the title of this one is pretty self explanatory but if not then yes,
Tyler was on Ellen. In the video he shows a clip from his interview and
talks about his experience with Ellen. This video was pretty amazing to

“New year , new me” is probably a phase you’re very used to hear-

We all get bored of those boring life quotes that people like to

the only thing you could possibly feel like doing is laying in bed forever?
Then you’ll be able to relate to this video in which Ben shows the true

Harry Styles invited you to their con-

what was it like?
Yeah that one was a lot of fun! They were in town
playing an arena gig and we had been messaging
and he asked if I wanted to come along and watch
them perform. So a friend and I went along, we got
to have a drink and hang out backstage with them
pre-show, Niall was just zooming around on a seg-

people I have ever met but a word of warning, if you

Where do you hope to see yourself in 5

Retired and on a beach being fed grapes from the
vine. No, in all seriousness I love what I do, every
week I get to do something new so as long as that
continues I suppose I can't complain. I know it
sounds pretty selfish but my main objective every

cause then I know when I'm old and not so grey I
know I lived. I'd also love to write a book about all
my experiences in the showbiz world. I could proba-
bly fill one already.
What do you enjoy doing in your spare
time?
I don't get a lot of spare time really. Most of it is
either at a launch for this or a party for that but I
wouldn't have it any other way. I always try to make
time for friends however, with growing up in North-
ern Ireland a lot of my friendship group is spread
all over the UK so it can be quite tricky sometimes
logistically.
Lorcan, we know you do a lot of fash-
ion presenting however would you ever
want your own You-Tube channel?
Every time I do anything or go anywhere I get so
many questions such as ‘what was that party like’? or
‘what is he/she like in person?’ so I think if I made a
you-tube channel I guess I could bring everyone with
me in a way and give them a little ‘backstage’ insight,
something that they wouldn’t be able to see day to
day. So yes I think that is definitely something I would
like to get around to at some point, never say never.
What videos would we see on your
channel if you did create one?
Lots of celebrity parties for one. I do a lot of present-
ing for RedCarpetBiz.com so lots of famous faces and
of course a lot of fashion shows.Though maybe some
of the videos would just be me at home with a tub of
ice cream watching sex and the city repeats...
What events do you enjoy going to the
most and why?
My favourite thing in the whole world is London
Fashion Week.Twice a year the fashion elite hit Lon-
don and it is always so refreshing to see so many new
ideas hitting the runway. It’s just one long luxurious
week from the catwalk to the after parties, it really is
second to none.

oday’s generation is all about
social media and its celebri-
ties. It really does sound cra-
zy how so many teens are get-
ting famous for being on social media
sites such as Twitter, Instagram, Face-
book or YouTube, if you count it as a
way of “socialising”.
There are so many people growing out
there and making their lives thanks to
this, people you all should now about
because they have all the signs to be
huge soon!
It also really does sound impossible,
it doens’t even make sense for many
people, but maybe the caring and
charisma they show, or how charm-
ing someone can be, funny or enter-
taining is very important when they
put themselves out there.
I had the chance of sitting down at
the London Olympia hotel, along
with our sub-editor Paloma Fenty to
interview one of the biggest celebri-
ties on the internet, and also someone
who does not stop growing and gain-
ing fans and getting recognised for
his work online. After a day out in
London, and being stopped by fans at
the hotel’s door, we had our chat.
T
“I see myself with very solid influencers.
”
Fanciful Magazine 27
Nowadays, I would say is pretty hard to
say you don’t know what social media
is or is an online celebrity, but for those
who still lost in the past century, let me
introduce you to 15-year-old American
vlogger Aidan Alexander.
Eeverything started in Idaho, United
States in 2000. This makes me wonder
how many other online celebrities are
there who were not born in the 90s.
Looks like the 90s kids are over.
Aidan is not only a very well recognised
YouTuber, his online fame started in
other social media sites such as Twit-
ter. On Aidan’s CV we can also add him
as an actor, he has showed his skills in
a couple of movies. He is also a social
media influencer, as I mentioned, his
fame started somewhere else then went
to YouTube., which brings to the final
addition, he is a very popular YouTuber.
Not only social media and vlogging is
included in his favourites; he is a fashion
lover as well.
If you are a fan, you are very much in
luck as we can now carry on to all his
thoughts and opinions, and even a little
more about his career so far and plans!
Fanciful Magazine 28
Fanciful Magazine 29
Aidan started his YouTube channel a little over
a year ago. “Since I was little I’ve always made
films, like short movies. YouTube is a big plat-
form so I might just transcribe whatever I have
been doing since I was little to a social media
platform, that’s why I initially started it. Then
as my social media started growing, I decided it
was a very good platform to send traffic to my
other platforms.”
Not only making videos, but as well all you-
tubers, he has his favourites to watch when he is
not making his own videos. O2L, talking about
the times they were together, was one of Aidan’s
favourite channels. “I watched all their videos!”
he still sticking to some of the O2L boys though,
for example Connor Franta. Also fan of Tyler
Oakley and Troye Sivan, he added. “I see my-
self with very solid influencers.” And I am pretty
sure many fans will agree on that.
Aidan has mentioned his plans on his YouTube
channel. He has a strong interest in fashion and
acting, YouTube would just go along with him.
“In a few years I hope to see that my videos
are doing well but I’m doing something that is
unique and different, not like what a lot of other
people do.”
Talking about his interest in fashion, there is no
way to hold back the question of Aidan getting
a fashion
blog, but
maybe he
is already
way too
busy to
join something
else, “I’m so bad at staying consistent, I’m not
dedicated enough on the way of a blog, to con-
tinue it just because I have so many social medias
that I have to keep up with that sometimes a blog
can be a little excessive.” Aidan’s YouTube channel
does have a lot of fashion though.
Jumping to what Aidan has been up to, we can
talk about his projects with Seventeen Magazine
and AwesomenssTV. He is working on seventeen
magazine YouTube channel “Its like challenges
between two people, it was really fun!” although,
is more a like a “web-series thing” Talking about
AwesomessTV, Aidan is always doing things with
them. “There are a lot of projects coming out
soon with AwesomessTV” he added.
And the plans for 2015 are “Definitely work hard
and stay original. I feel like a lot of people do
things, whether it’s a project or video, just be-
cause they think it will perform well, I’d like to
continually put up content that I feel good about
and I am proud of.”

Archangela ChelseaArchangela Chelsea
Born in Surabaya, Indonesia, Los Angeles based
celebrity makeup artist Archangela Chelsea, talks
to us about her inspirations, her holy grail prod-
ucts and A/W trends she’ll be channeling.
Archangela Chelsea, started studying make-
up from the age of 15. “I studied in Indonesia
and then when I was 17 I moved to Los Ange-
les, where I took a makeup course at Makeup
Designory in Burbank”. Before she found makeup,
Chelsea was originally a painter, until her older
sister one day suggested that she used her artistic
skills and apply them to makeup. “I was having
an artistic block, I didn’t know what to paint, I felt
stuck”, she says. “I tried make-
up and I fell in love with it. I
feel inspired by makeup”.
“I’m inspired by the colours,
and also the different face
shapes and dimensions. And
when I have a new job, I look
to Instagram, Pinterest and
fashion magazines to get
ideas.” With an impressive list
of celebrity clients, includ-
ing How to Get Away with
Murder’s Charlie Weber and Switched at Birth’s
Vanessa Marano, Chelsea’s first job was actually
for a friend’s birthday. “I felt so nervous because
basically she was my first client! Thankfully,
everything went well.”
Chelsea’s portfolio, has a such a range of different
clients, and types of makeup artistry. Not only
has she done the makeup of some of Los Angeles
most beautiful women, but she’s also done
grooming for the men. She’s done everything
from red carpet events to fashion shoots and has
also created some very exciting beauty editorials,
but what’s her favourite? “I love doing red carpets
for celebrities, because it
is so much fun seeing my
clients walking confidently
on the red carpet. I also love
doing photo shoots, espe-
cially beauty shoots because
I can be more creative with
the makeup”.
After having such a range
of clients, it’s not surprising
that she can’t pick a favour-
ite, “Every celebrity/brand that I have worked
with has its own exciting story”.
This A/W brings a new season, which means
new beauty trends, “I think this season is
all about color, especially lip color. I see a
lot of celebrities wearing fun lip colors like
bright pink, orange, deep red, burgundy, and
even purple when walking red carpets or
just hanging out with friends. Most of these
looks are balanced by applying a more neutral eye
color and lots of mascara for definition”. Some of
her favourites include Kate Bosworth’s tangerine
lip and Gigi Hadid’s dark purple.
So what advice would she give aspiring makeup
artists, “Keep doing what you love, never give up,
and be humble”. Have a look at a couple of Chel-
sea’s clients below.

How To Strobe
The idea of strobing is basically highlighting your facial structure that you want to
accentuate to give a natural dimension to your face.
Prep your skin by applying moisturiser. I usually use Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Cream. After
moisturiser, apply a foundation primer. To bring a natural glow to your skin, I love
using illuminating foundation primer. My favourite product is Laura Mercier Foun-
dation Primer- Radiance.
Start applying your favourite foundation all over your face. Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua
Foundation is my go to foundation for all skin types.
After applying your base, then we can start strobing. Apply liquid illuminator such as
Smashbox Halo Highlighting Wand or powder illuminator like Kevyn Aucoin Celes-
tial Powder on your cheekbones, centre of your forehead, bridge of the nose, cupid’s
bow, chin, inner corner of your eyes, and below your brow bone. he goal of strobing
in highlighting; therefore, don’t be afraid to apply more products than what you usu-
ally use to accentuate your bone structure.
Never forget to set your makeup with Nars Light Reflecting Loose Setting Powder
after strobing so that your overall base makeup stays in place.

Interview with
BARS & MELODY
Fanciful Magazine 37
First of all, thanks for the little interview! Now, tell us
all about the beginnings of Bars and Melody.
Well it was interesting I mean meeting someone on the Internet is strange
enough let alone knowing 4 months down the line your going to be tour-
ing the world together, bars and melody began after a hard day rehearsal
where we kicked up our feet watched a bit of tv and BGT came up we
looked at each other and knew we had to do it.
Why are you called “Bars & Melody”
As Leondre raps, a rap is measured in bars, as I am the singer, I sing the mel-
ody the and well chucked in there to see how it looked and it fitted
Your lives have changed so much since BGT, what are the
good and the bad parts of fame?
Good thing is you get to explore the world and meet amazing people you get to
do things any normal 16 year old would dream of doing to look into a crowd of
thousands and know they’re there too see you is the best feeling. The bad part is
there is no privacy wherever you go you will always be recognised but I guess it
comes as part of the job.
Do you have any other hidden tal-
ents apart from singing? And, any
talents you would like to have?
I’m really really good at sleeping and pretty
good at eating so I would call those talents
apart from that I’m just talentless.
You recently took part in a mov-
ie! How was the experience?
What’s the difference between
singing and acting?
It was amazing to be on a movie set. Be-
fore BGT acting was my first choice of
work, fortunately singing came forward and
worked out for me but would love to look
into an acting career in the future
As a last question, what are
the plans for 2015?
2015 bars and melody are going to
take over the world!!

I always wanted to have my own blog or magazine, and put out there all my creativity. I am strongly passionated about writing and design, so what a better idea than finally sarting it? To be honest, it was an ‘accident’ the creation of this magazine. When I first started writing, it was just a small, very badly designed blog where I posted a couple a of news stories to help me improve my skills as a writer, turns out people liked it and started reading more and more. The blog grew to a magazine and others joined in, all passionated about the same as me. Entertainment, creaitivity and design is what we best do. I am very proud of how far we have come. Sia brings a new single, Alive, included in her up- coming album, This Is Acting. This song was written by Adele, but she rejected the song, so Sia decided to take it ‘This is a song about Adele’s life, so I sing a song from the perspective of Adele’, Said Sia to NME. The new Sia’s project is called This Is Acting because it is the continuation of her last album, 1000 Forms of Fear, and it was build up by songs written for other people. ‘It is not something I would say, it is more such as an action game, it is funny’, said Sia about about the title of her new album. Also previewed on the documentary cracked wasn’t originally supposed to be on the album but the demand from fans made Pentatonix decide otherwise. Cracked is definetely a party tune. 10.Water - Kirstins lead and a song that reminds me a little bit of one of their previous songs ‘see through’. Kirstins lead vocals accompanied by backing manage to make this song sound extremely complicated but in the best way possible. 11.Take Me Home - Another song with a slower tem- po but very delightful atmosphere surrounding it. A very 90s esque vibe and killed with nice sounding harmonies I can’t get enough of. 12. New Years Day - Although maybe considered as a seasonal song New Years Day gives off such a good message about being happy and spending your life having a good time with the people you love, even if it means celebrating simple things. I love this song a lot because its a great reminder to keep your friends close and be happy. 13.Light In The Hallway - The most sweet sound- ing lullaby I’ve ever heard with the best fitting lead vocals from Avi. Light in the hallway was written by Scott and Mitch for Scotts nephew Landon and was originally going to be called Landons Song. I have to admit when I first heard this song I teared up more than a little bit and I can’t get enough of listening to the lyrics and harmonies. Last night 5 piece a cappella band Pen- tatonix released their self entitled debut album for worldwide released, heres what I think 1. Na Na Na - A completely feel good song, with Mitch as the lead Na Na Na is a great song to dance to and use for a little dance party. Na Na Na is a great opener to the album setting an immediate happy and upbeat vibe. 2.Cant Sleep Love - The first single from the album featuring female rapper Tink. Cant Sleep Love is also an ex- tremely feel good song which is great for a mini dance party. 3.Sing - With the video just being released sing is a song about forgetting your problems through music and letting your- self let go for a while, a great song for if you’re feeling down and need to sing your problems away with. 4. Misbehavin - The first song with a slightly slower tempo, misbehavin is about the fact even though the band are constantly working and on tour away from their loved ones they’ll always stay true and faithful to their partners. 5.Ref- Hardcore a capella critics and fans have had some controversy over this song because of a whistle blown in part of the song, however one whistle doesn’t really affect the au- thenticity of the band and the rest of the song is still entirely a cappella and impressively so. 6.First Things First - The song about the band being tired of the music industries obsession with luxury. The chorus of this one is a cool vibed raspy whisper that makes you want to sassily lip sync along to it. 7.Rose Gold - Originally previewed on the on my way BY RHIANNON MAEVE ALBUM REVIEW
  • 11. Fanciful Magazine 11 SELF HELP DANCE MODEL 86 BY ELIZABETH ALVARADO What do you get when you mix electronic, 90s hip hop, and film score music? Enter London-based producer, MODEL 86, whose debut EP is sure to please at your next house party. Check out Fanci- ful Magazine’s track-by-track review below. 1. SITTING DOWN & LOOKING – Incorporating a unique blend of sounds (think wind chimes and jingling keys) this track is a great way to start off the EP by show- ing off MODEL 86’s wide range of musical styles in less than 4 minutes. 2. CTRL – A mellow track with perfectly placed breaths in the background, it mirrors the feeling you get when you finally get to lay in bed after a long day. 3. C.T.A.S – One of the more experimental tracks on the album, it offers listeners a woozy blend of ambi- ent type music. There’s a killer unexpected laugh in the middle too. 4. FALLING FROM A BRIDGE – The film score influence shines in this 28 second gem giving off the feeling one might get from actually falling off a bridge. 5. FRIEND – As the cinematic glitches and punchy beats swirl around in an unexpected melody this be- comes one of the album’s best dance tracks. 6. LA – A true patchwork of musical styles, this track keeps you guessing where it’s going while still maintaining an element of harmony. No easy feat. 7. SISTER – The perfect soundtrack for those sleepless nights, Sister calms you right down and relaxes the mind into a peaceful stream of ease and peacefulness. 8. SELF HELP DANCE 86 – Providing a warped mix of sounds, this track is definitely one of the stand outs from this EP. 9. C20H21FN2O (OR WHAT IT’S LIKE WHEN I GO COLD TURKEY OFF MY TABLETS) – The music per- fectly reflects the emotions that would arise from experiencing something as the title suggests. And in the best possible way. 10. SWELL – The background voices add an ele- ment of flair to this laidback tune. 11. THE NORTH (bonus track) – Cinematically beautiful, this could quite possibly be what it feels like to float through space.
  • 12. Fanciful Magazine 12 It’s time for a review! Lets dig a little into the new Nat Wolff and Emma Robert’s movie ‘Ashby’. It really is not easy to be the new kid in school, and soon Ed (Nat Wolff) will find when he moves to a new town with his single mum June (Sarah Silver- man). Starting off he is assigned at school to learn more about the elder and their wisdom, which pushes Ed to talk to his neighbour. They end up becoming friends with Ashby (Mickey Rourke) the neighbour, who used to be a CIA assassin. At the same time, he also becomes very close with his schoolmate Eloise (Emma Roberts). Being honest, I would start saying there nothing else to watch apart from what you see on the trail- er. This is the typical high school movie really. The viewer might expect the unexpected at the end as it comes from a very well recognised director, but seems like everyone leaves the cinema a bit disap- MOVIE REVIEW ASHBY Directed by Tony McNamara Cast: Emma Roberts, Nat Wolff, Mickey Rourke ed. That does not change the fact that is an interesting piece. It just follows Ed being given life lessons by his ex CIA assassin Ashby. I would say they threw in the CIA as- sassin to try make it different, even if Ed goes throw most cliche moments in high school movies. The mov- ie in general is pretty good and interesting though. It explores friendship and mortality in a way to catch the attention of a large target audience. Emma Roberts, indeed, was pretty good. I bad movie does not make a bad actor, and here is Roberts to prove it. She can definitely take over and smash it as a selfish and bitchy teen in American Horror Story: Coven, as well as a sweet young teen in Ashby, or even Palo Alto. Nat Wolff, who also worked with Roberts in Palo Alto, has to prove the same as her. They both are completely capable to take over pretty much any role and fit it per- fectly.
  • 13. Fanciful Magazine 13 2015 is being a year of big releases in the film industry, and I can say Joe Wright’s “Pan” is one of them. Starring Hugh Jackman, Rooney Mara, Garrett Hedlund, Amanda Seyfried and, in- troducing Levi Miller, we have the children’s tale coming to life once again (lets not forget the 2003 film directed by P.J. Hogan “Peter Pan”). Wright’s film follows a new take on the beginning of the Lost Boy’s leader Peter Pan and the rest of char- acters originally created by J.M. Barrie. Peter (Levi Miller) is in desperate need to find his long-lost mother (Amanda Seyfried) and find out why was he left at the door of a miserable orphanage in London as a baby. Peter soon realises some children at the orphanage is going missing, to then find out they are all being taken by nocturne pirates on flying ships and taken to a place called Neverland. Until Peter and some of his friends at the orphanage aretakenaway, everythingseemspretty“normal”like any other movie taking place over the WWII. The story starts to go pretty fast from there; he finds him- self in a completely different place, with very strange people but does not question anything or gets scared and just start following the orders Blackbeard (Hugh Jackman) gives, which is mining to find fairy’s pixie dust. Apparently nobody else really questions this, even if they are thousands and thousands of people against one. Also, there is where Peter meets Hook (Garrett Hedlund). PAN Directed by Joe Wrigth Cast: Huhg Jackman, Rooney Mara, Garrett Hedlund Not trying to get out of this clearly unfair treat, Peter gets in trouble after doing something right. Blackbeard then decides to throw him from one of his flying ships, but right before Peter gets to the ground, turns out he can fly. These events lead Blackbeard to worry about a old prophecy about a flying boy who would end his life. Carrying on from, would spill out everything else on the movie. I would say this is such a weird scenario to see Hugh Jackman in, after his action movies, but at the same time he is an amazing and multitasking actor, he took the role pretty well. We then have Rooney Mara as Tiger Lily, who also did well. But generalising the performances, I can’t say they were great. Everything goes so fast, that there is no time for any actual character develop- ment. It could have been way better if wasn’t for rush to the end of the movie, the lack of charac- ter development and all the computerized cine- matographic. The movie is enjoyable, after all is for children’s and young adults enjoyment mainly and they really will enjoy it. I personally did after all. As a last, lets not make a big deal about Cara Delevingne being part of the cast because the two or three seconds you see of her on trailer, is literally everything you will see of her on the entire movie too. RECEIVING THE TREVORYOUTH INNOVATOR AWARD With a very weird metaphor to go with a very interesting concept Tyler talks about how you should have good standards for yourself because if you’re delivering something to people with good quality and they give you something 10x worse in return you shouldn’t stand for it. 4.WHAT I LEARNED FROM PICKLE JUICE Another self explanatory title, here Tyler lists 100 things that he did and that he slayed doing during 2014, hopefully they’ll be an- other one this year with 100 more cool things Tyler has managed. 3. 100 THINGS I DID IN 2014 No glory in the process is a video that pretty much tells the story of how you have to work to be where you want, if you want something really badly then you need to work to be there and the process of getting there may not be fun but if the end result is worth it then do it. 2. NO GLORY IN THE PROCESS I think the title of this one is pretty self explanatory but if not then yes, Tyler was on Ellen. Lorcan, now a fully fledged Londoner, is a regular face at the hottest parties in town. With over 30,000 fans on social media, there is no question he is one to watch and we sat down with him over a tall cocktail to talk through the past, present and future.
  • 23. Fanciful Magazine 23 Interview by Katie Tulip Photography by Laura Riba Harry Styles invited you to their con- cert, how did that come about and what was it like? Yeah that one was a lot of fun! They were in town playing an arena gig and we had been messaging and he asked if I wanted to come along and watch them perform. So a friend and I went along, we got to have a drink and hang out backstage with them pre-show, Niall was just zooming around on a seg- way the whole time. Harry really is one of the nicest people I have ever met but a word of warning, if you are going to see the guys perform, bring some ear plugs. Those directioners go hard with their screams. Where do you hope to see yourself in 5 years time? Retired and on a beach being fed grapes from the vine. No, in all seriousness I love what I do, every week I get to do something new so as long as that continues I suppose I can't complain. I know it sounds pretty selfish but my main objective every hour of every day is to make sure I am happy, be- cause then I know when I'm old and not so grey I know I lived. I'd also love to write a book about all my experiences in the showbiz world. I could proba- bly fill one already. What do you enjoy doing in your spare time? I don't get a lot of spare time really. Most of it is either at a launch for this or a party for that but I wouldn't have it any other way. I always try to make time for friends however, with growing up in North- ern Ireland a lot of my friendship group is spread all over the UK so it can be quite tricky sometimes logistically. Lorcan, we know you do a lot of fash- ion presenting however would you ever want your own You-Tube channel? Every time I do anything or go anywhere I get so many questions such as ‘what was that party like’? or ‘what is he/she like in person?’ so I think if I made a you-tube channel I guess I could bring everyone with me in a way and give them a little ‘backstage’ insight, something that they wouldn’t be able to see day to day. So yes I think that is definitely something I would like to get around to at some point, never say never. What videos would we see on your channel if you did create one? Lots of celebrity parties for one. I do a lot of present- ing for RedCarpetBiz.com so lots of famous faces and of course a lot of fashion shows.Though maybe some of the videos would just be me at home with a tub of ice cream watching sex and the city repeats... What events do you enjoy going to the most and why? My favourite thing in the whole world is London Fashion Week.Twice a year the fashion elite hit Lon- don and it is always so refreshing to see so many new ideas hitting the runway. It’s just one long luxurious week from the catwalk to the after parties, it really is second to none.

  • 26. Fanciful Magazine 26 oday’s generation is all about social media and its celebri- ties. It really does sound cra- zy how so many teens are get- ting famous for being on social media sites such as Twitter, Instagram, Face- book or YouTube, if you count it as a way of “socialising”. There are so many people growing out there and making their lives thanks to this, people you all should now about because they have all the signs to be huge soon! It also really does sound impossible, it doens’t even make sense for many people, but maybe the caring and charisma they show, or how charm- ing someone can be, funny or enter- taining is very important when they put themselves out there. I had the chance of sitting down at the London Olympia hotel, along with our sub-editor Paloma Fenty to interview one of the biggest celebri- ties on the internet, and also someone who does not stop growing and gain- ing fans and getting recognised for his work online. After a day out in London, and being stopped by fans at the hotel’s door, we had our chat. T “I see myself with very solid influencers. ”
  • 27. Fanciful Magazine 27 Nowadays, I would say is pretty hard to say you don’t know what social media is or is an online celebrity, but for those who still lost in the past century, let me introduce you to 15-year-old American vlogger Aidan Alexander. Eeverything started in Idaho, United States in 2000. This makes me wonder how many other online celebrities are there who were not born in the 90s. Looks like the 90s kids are over. Aidan is not only a very well recognised YouTuber, his online fame started in other social media sites such as Twit- ter. On Aidan’s CV we can also add him as an actor, he has showed his skills in a couple of movies. He is also a social media influencer, as I mentioned, his fame started somewhere else then went to YouTube., which brings to the final addition, he is a very popular YouTuber. Not only social media and vlogging is included in his favourites; he is a fashion lover as well. If you are a fan, you are very much in luck as we can now carry on to all his thoughts and opinions, and even a little more about his career so far and plans!
  • 29. Fanciful Magazine 29 Aidan started his YouTube channel a little over a year ago. “Since I was little I’ve always made films, like short movies. YouTube is a big plat- form so I might just transcribe whatever I have been doing since I was little to a social media platform, that’s why I initially started it. Then as my social media started growing, I decided it was a very good platform to send traffic to my other platforms.” Not only making videos, but as well all you- tubers, he has his favourites to watch when he is not making his own videos. O2L, talking about the times they were together, was one of Aidan’s favourite channels. “I watched all their videos!” he still sticking to some of the O2L boys though, for example Connor Franta. Also fan of Tyler Oakley and Troye Sivan, he added. “I see my- self with very solid influencers.” And I am pretty sure many fans will agree on that. Aidan has mentioned his plans on his YouTube channel. He has a strong interest in fashion and acting, YouTube would just go along with him. “In a few years I hope to see that my videos are doing well but I’m doing something that is unique and different, not like what a lot of other people do.” Talking about his interest in fashion, there is no way to hold back the question of Aidan getting a fashion blog, but maybe he is already way too busy to join something else, “I’m so bad at staying consistent, I’m not dedicated enough on the way of a blog, to con- tinue it just because I have so many social medias that I have to keep up with that sometimes a blog can be a little excessive.” Aidan’s YouTube channel does have a lot of fashion though. Jumping to what Aidan has been up to, we can talk about his projects with Seventeen Magazine and AwesomenssTV. He is working on seventeen magazine YouTube channel “Its like challenges between two people, it was really fun!” although, is more a like a “web-series thing” Talking about AwesomessTV, Aidan is always doing things with them. “There are a lot of projects coming out soon with AwesomessTV” he added. And the plans for 2015 are “Definitely work hard and stay original. I feel like a lot of people do things, whether it’s a project or video, just be- cause they think it will perform well, I’d like to continually put up content that I feel good about and I am proud of.”

Not only has she done the makeup of some of Los Angeles most beautiful women, but she’s also done grooming for the men. She’s done everything from red carpet events to fashion shoots and has also created some very exciting beauty editorials, but what’s her favourite? “I love doing red carpets for celebrities, because it is so much fun seeing my clients walking confidently on the red carpet. I also love doing photo shoots, espe- cially beauty shoots because I can be more creative with the makeup”. After having such a range of clients, it’s not surprising that she can’t pick a favour- ite, “Every celebrity/brand that I have worked with has its own exciting story”. This A/W brings a new season, which means new beauty trends, “I think this season is all about color, especially lip color. I see a lot of celebrities wearing fun lip colors like bright pink, orange, deep red, burgundy, and even purple when walking red carpets or just hanging out with friends. Most of these looks are balanced by applying a more neutral eye color and lots of mascara for definition”. Some of her favourites include Kate Bosworth’s tangerine lip and Gigi Hadid’s dark purple. So what advice would she give aspiring makeup artists, “Keep doing what you love, never give up, and be humble”. • 37. Fanciful Magazine 37 First of all, thanks for the little interview! Now, tell us all about the beginnings of Bars and Melody. Well it was interesting I mean meeting someone on the Internet is strange enough let alone knowing 4 months down the line your going to be tour- ing the world together, bars and melody began after a hard day rehearsal where we kicked up our feet watched a bit of tv and BGT came up we looked at each other and knew we had to do it. Why are you called “Bars & Melody” As Leondre raps, a rap is measured in bars, as I am the singer, I sing the mel- ody the and well chucked in there to see how it looked and it fitted Your lives have changed so much since BGT, what are the good and the bad parts of fame? Good thing is you get to explore the world and meet amazing people you get to do things any normal 16 year old would dream of doing to look into a crowd of thousands and know they’re there too see you is the best feeling. The bad part is there is no privacy wherever you go you will always be recognised but I guess it comes as part of the job. Do you have any other hidden tal- ents apart from singing? And, any talents you would like to have? I’m really really good at sleeping and pretty good at eating so I would call those talents apart from that I’m just talentless. You recently took part in a mov- ie! How was the experience? What’s the difference between singing and acting? It was amazing to be on a movie set. Be- fore BGT acting was my first choice of work, fortunately singing came forward and worked out for me but would love to look into an acting career in the future As a last question, what are the plans for 2015? 2015 bars and melody are going to take over the world!!
