A retired New Jersey clinical psychologist, Dr. Beth Grosshans, authored the seminal book, Beyond Time Out: From Chaos to Calm. Dr. Beth Grosshans engages in various civic activities and is an advisory board member of the New York Metropolitan Opera (Met).

• A retired New Jersey clinical psychologist, Dr. Beth Grosshans, authored the
seminal book, Beyond Time Out: From Chaos to Calm. Dr. Beth Grosshans
engages in various civic activities and is an advisory board member of the
New York Metropolitan Opera (Met).
On October 25, 2019, the Met staged Franco Zeffirelli’s production of
Puccini’s adored La Bohéme. As the Met’s most staged production, the show
had an outstanding cast featuring a mix of experienced and young
performers who, once again, brought the classic back to life. Under the
baton of Marco Armiliato, Ailyn Perez reprised her role as Mimi, the
seamstress, while her lover, Rodolfo, the poet, was played by Mathew
Polenzani, in his first character role at the Met.
There was enviable chemistry between the two lead characters. Providing
solid support were Olga Kulchynska as the singer Musetta, Andrey
Zhilikhovsky as Schaunard, and Jongmin Park as Colline. All these performers
were making their Met debut. There is a series of performances until May
2020. These performances are in honor of Zeffirelli, who died in June 2019.
