Editor's Notes

  1. Working Efficiently Plan your day Plan your week Batch your activities When at work, WORK!! Finish every activity you start Understand your daily task Follow your assigned schedule Take a break! Work Accurately Mistake free Learn from the previous mistakes Do the job RIGHT first and THEN get faster! Practice Check your Work – take little extra time to double check your work you will reduce the margin for error Develop checklists for yourself Take advantage of “Best Practices” – learn from other, ask for help, get a mentor ….. “we should regret our mistakes and learn from them, but never carry them forward into the future with us”
  2. How we can increase Productivity and be more profitable Track and limit how much time we spending on tasks…. Try to have regular flow …… Set on and off work scheduled….. Follow the “Safety First Rule.”………. Knowing the net hours you need per day …… Don’t get frustrated when you get busy ….. Go through your reports … ..
  3. Teams are much more effective then individuals for work on complex projects combined group effort of all members Don’t wait for another team member to do all the work Open communication on the teams Our success is mainly depending on when we are helping each other. we need to have respect for each other ….. Each person have a unique talents Be positive Develop a Team work Environment Forming ……. Am I a member of this group? Storming ….. Who controls this group? Norming ….. What are the rules of this group? Performing …How high can this group go? Mourning ….. Where do we go from here?
  4. How all the individuals fit and work together. Prepare the spread sheet 2 weeks ahead with the flight information and assign Team, KDT, Dock number, total hours Email the spread sheet to the Transportation Manager and Supervisor Assign the flights team, KDT and Dock number in KMS On the beginning of every month I will send updates on the flight schedule changes and any catering related changes. Gate planner will print the drivers team sheet and rearrange the flight if necessary based on Departure gate, making sure one driver has corresponding gates if possible, assign if there is any extra section flights pop out that day, if we have shortage of trucks, delay flights, shortage of drivers and other issues. The gate planner is responsible to rearrange the Team sheet scheduled accordingly. The dock lead will have a copy of the final team sheets for his/her shift to follow the drivers Kitchen Departure Time. The dock lead is responsible for follow the drivers for leaving on their scheduled KDT. If necessary the coordinator will also get the team sheets information for any cross reference and meal checking. The tower agent (controller) is responsible to check the camera and update the gate changes to the coordinators. For any last minute changes or changes after catering, the dispatcher will communicate with the dock lead and the coordinator to change the flights. The tower agent will responsible to print the update ARIS/WEBREPORT after each push and make it ready for the transportation coordinator. Drivers are responsible at the end of their shift to dump and move the truck to the loading dock area then return the key and the inspection check sheet to the dispatch.
  5. What is workflow? Driver, coordinators and leads have a proper work load…… Employees have the opportunity to know the number of flights for the day and coordinators have the opportunity to know which zone’s are they going to work. When the dock lead control the KDT and when the Ramp coordinators control the gates, then we can say we are having better managing and controlling in our operation. When we use the proper tools we have like KMS Flight Tracking, then we can print our report any time we want. When we have pre-assign docks  we will have a better in and out flights  Less radio conversation  Drivers will have more responsibilities on their tasks  results better time management
  6. 6. We will have a better control on the overtimes….. 7. We have the clear view coverage for the vacation outages 8. When we have ON TIME ETD  when the drivers manage their time and when coordinators control their assigned gates  when the employees know what they are scheduled results QUALITY FIRST! “we will be the caterer award winners and we will have extra bonus $$$ on our pocket” /*Its like hitting two birds using one stone*/
  7. when I say “open mind for a different view” I meant that being open for a new ideas and expressing a degree of flexibility. I believe that change is such hard work all the time  “Changing what you eat is hard work. Changing your money habits is hard work. Changing any aspect of your life is hard work. But you know what’s harder? Not changing.” The initial training session is focus on understanding the concept of food scheduling, cycle changes, swap and delay flights …. This will help the driver when they check their flights and help coordinator to check the callbacks. Certifying more employees on WD A/C. Increase the number of employees with the customs seals.
  8. I have the fight scheduling training sessions presentation prepared Vehicle’s inspection automated system which can able to generate a report and which will be easier to track the records we have Generate the correct daily reports and attached them with the shift reports. Generate the weekly and the monthly reports and address the overall performance
  9. Thank you for attending the presentation! You all have a great Day!
