A pastry company in Shibuya, Tokyo called Customise Pastry Company was started in September 2013. The company is 95% owned by a pastry chef who is also the CEO. In the 10 months since July 2014, the company has produced 50,000 cakes and aims to produce 100,000 cakes per year and capture the 140 billion yen whole cake market in Japan, producing 40 million cakes annually. The company is attending Slush Asia to gain media exposure and find partners for global expansion.
