The “Highway of Tears” refers to the 724km stretch of the Yellowhead Highway 16 between
Prince Rupert and Prince George. Over a thirty-five year period, more than 30 known cases of
murdered and missing women and girls have been associated within the general vicinity of this
highway. Consider buddying up, informing people where you’re going, and exercising extreme
caution when working or travelling in this area.
