Augusto Lopez-Claros is a veteran of international economic policy debates who is currently on leave from the World Bank as a Senior Fellow at Georgetown University. During the period 2011-17 he was the director of the Bank’s Global Indicators Group, the unit responsible for some of the Bank’s most high-profile reports. One area of focus in his evolution as a development economist has been in trying to understand what are the factors, policies and institutions which contribute to boosting sustainable economic growth and more equitable outcomes across the world, in developing as well as developed economies.
